Char at the top of the view point - you cant really see from the photo but the view went for miles! As we neared the top the fog decended! But thanfully lifted soon after. We walked through beautiful lush fertile valleys - not what you expect from Africa. The villagers here made a good living selling there fresh produce all over TZ. The area has a climate unlike the re...

Basquiat Scrawls: January 2007
http://basquiatscrawls.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 10, 2007. In Memoriam M.K.H., 1911-1984. The cool that came off the sheets just off the line. Made me think the damp must still be in them. But when I took my corners of the linen. And pulled against her, first straight down the hem. And then diagonally, then flapped and shook. The fabric like a sail in a cross-wind,. They made a dried-out undulating thwack. So we'd stretch and fold and end up hand to hand. For a split second as if nothing had happened. One of my most enduring memories...

Mzungu! Mzungu!: March 2008
http://mzungumzungu.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
The adventures of two do-gooders escaping to a Ugandan orphanage for 6 months. Friday, 21 March 2008. Our beloved Kampala. The city is basically 24/7 gridlock. But it still rocks! Us both at Sipi Falls number two. We had a beautiful view over sipi falls 1 from our campsite - but it was bloody windy on that cliff! The thunder clouds encrouch into a sunset over the nile up at Bujagali Falls. Grace and Steve up at Bujagali (hope the photos not too dark to see). Or too much poker? After the peace of Sipi we ...

Cooking from Memories: April 2007
http://foodmemoirs.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Monday, 23 April 2007. One of my earliest food memories is making mucky mixtures with my sister Ruth. Here is our drop scone recipe (very roughly):. 2 heaped teaspoons baking powder. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 1 handful or two children's handfuls of sultanas. If you are a small child (even at heart) then just put it all into a bowl and whisk till you have a smooth batter. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My head is full of foods, tastes and memories of meals I have eaten. Cooking from Memories.
