Feelings = x, x = heart, heart =? I awoke this morning thinking of the actions people take to persuade or dissuade others to believe or think as they do. Proof seems like the only thing we strive for. Proof that God exists; that our personal faith is true. Proof that others care; that while in need we'll be taken care of. Proof that we are right; that we can prove ourselves when the fight comes up. What if when I die I find that everything I thought to be true was false? Would I, at that point, care?

There is a haze over people that I see every once in a while. A fog of disillusionment. It is as if they are living for others and have forgotten about themselves. More accurately, they no longer know their own worth so they look to others to find it. For some reason, the three minutes that it took for all of this to take place seemed like an eternity of frustration on my part; a frustration with society's desire to mask themselves and live off unnatural resources of energy and excitement.

There are moments in my life when I become overwhelmed by good things. My heart begins to race and I feel mentally claustrophobic because I don't know how to be bombarded with great, rather than fighting off lousy. It is a hard thing to describe and experience.
