Duyvis / University of Twente. The challenge set out for this assignment was to design a packaging that combines a food and non-food product and uses at least three different packaging materials. A pistachio packaging was designed for Duyvis that comes with a special bowl. It opens from the top like the nut itself and the packaging can be used in a clever way to dispose the shells. The graphic design of the packaging is based on the Pure and Natural.

Assisting a home confinement where the mother uses a birth stool, commonly causes neck and back injuries to midwives. In the new design the mother is placed higher to increase visibility and accessibility, while the birth stool is still easy to transport through its modular design. Hieu Nguyen, Joska Sesink, Mike Stok and Mireille Weghorst. The birth stool is supported by the bed to ensure stability. Moreover the partner could take place on the bed behind his wife to support her during labor.

The Virtual Reality Laboratory of the University of Twente is used to visualise and interact with complex models to support multiple stakeholder decision making. The custom setup and quick addition and replacement of equipment makes the lab difficult to control. This interface design proposes a unified way of operating the lab using an interactive 3D visualisation.

Contrary to the scientific view on design of the University, I wanted to explore form more freely and find new ways to create form and make quick iterations. In four different ways I’ve tried to come up with a new shape for a remote control. With both physical and digital methods a large diversity of shapes was created, further revised and improved. With silhouettes, wood, paper and 3D sculptures the form of a remote was explored. From each method new shapes emerged that were refined with sketches.
