Geeking out, speaking up, having fun. August 23, 2016. August 22, 2016. I store new songs more accurately, I hoard them. Before I’ve even heard a song all the way through, if I like it, I’ve catalogued its most distinctive lyrics so I can look them up later and add the song to my collection. I have a note in my phone full of phrases from songs I’ve wanted to collect:. Hold back the river. Take Jackson out of me. What kind of man loves like this. In my car, I hold my breath. Geeking out, speaking up, having fun. May 18, 2016. May 24, 2016. Karya clocked in five minutes before the start of twelfth rotation and caught the next lift down into the mines. It stopped two levels down at the substation, where she hopped into her pressure suit, loaded a caff tank onto her back, and checked the tunnel conditions. It was a good day no gas leaks, volcanic activity, or equipment malfunctions so she reboarded the lift and headed deeper down. But she recognized their faces as they turned t...

Geeking out, speaking up, having fun. Taking PAX Back from the Trolls. September 4, 2013. September 5, 2013. I spent Labor Day weekend in Seattle at my first-ever convention: PAX, a gaming convention hosted by Penny Arcade. I had my reservations about going, partly because I was going to cosplay for the first time. And partly because PAX has something of a sordid history, which I’ll get into below. But first, my costume:. It wasn’t excellent, but it looked pretty cool. Brittneigh. After all, this year of...

Pointe Blanc: Hey fatty boom-boom!
http://lepointeblanc.blogspot.com/2011/05/hey-fatty-boom-boom.html
Thursday, 19 May 2011. It annoys me how the ladies at work order koeksisters by the dozen and buy cake from the dietetics students and come back from the cafeteria with slap chips, Coke and chocolates… and then complain of being fat. And then they say things like, “Oh, but you’re so nice and thin,. Can afford to eat some cake”, as if being of normal weight while still watching what I eat is some disease (“What do you mean, no thanks? 8221;). There’s a. Then you won’t be as fat! Wednesday, 27 January 2010. What you get is what you give in return. This post was originally published on local radio station OFM. S website, for the editorial column Yellow Door. On Tuesday morning I witnessed an accident. A pedestrian woman was hit by a passing car in the left lane in Nelson Mandela Drive. She was flipped into the air so high that her feet hit the branches of the tree she was walking under. In South Africa – REMEMBER IT! 2 I could have been fitter and got to the hospital quicker!
Pointe Blanc: Live in rooms full of light
http://lepointeblanc.blogspot.com/2011/07/live-in-rooms-full-of-light.html
Wednesday, 13 July 2011. Live in rooms full of light. I read a nice quote the other day (can't remember the source), but I thought I'd share it here. It's from Aulus Cornelius Celsus, one of the most important contributors to medicine and scientific thought during the Roman Empire:. Live in rooms full of light. Be moderate in the drinking of wine. Take massage, baths, exercise, and gymnastics. Fight insomnia with gentle rocking or the sound of running water. Change surroundings and take long journeys.

http://lepointeblanc.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Friday, 19 February 2010. In a few weeks’ time, it will be my birthday. It will be a landmark birthday for me; I’ll be turning 30. The Big Three-Oh. Yup. I will be 30. Thuuuurteeeee…. There, I said it. I am 30 years old. Bah! This is daunting, for a number of reasons – least of all that I’ll. And I simply don’t. Pointe Blanc: The cream carry-on (or: How to take two showers on one night)
http://lepointeblanc.blogspot.com/2011/05/cream-carry-on-or-how-to-take-two.html
Friday, 20 May 2011. The cream carry-on (or: How to take two showers on one night). So the other day I went to Clicks. To get some body lotion. I sniffed around a few, looking for a fragrance that I’m in the mood for. I decided on something lavender-y, took the purple bottle and proceeded to pay. That night at home, I had my shower and slathered on the lovely-smelling lavender lotion. I even asked James to do my back for me. Him: This cream feels funny. So we had slathered my entire body in. We ♥ it.
