Rugman One Name Study. Family History of the Rugman Name. Bart’s Fair, Bartholomew’s the Great, London 1813. AKA Cloth Fair. In the ‘Penguin Dictionary of Surnames’, Rugman is described as an old English name and the definition is given as ‘dweller on the ridge’. If this is correct, I am surprised again that the name is not more common. I am not dismissing any of these meanings but I have yet to be convinced. Rugman Bible | Rugman | One Name Study

Rugman One Name Study. Family History of the Rugman Name. I couldn’t believe my luck when this bible was offered for sale on the Internet in Feb 2008. As you can see the bible was in a terrible condition with the front cover separate from the main body. The bible was originally covered in black goat skin but faded badly. I later discovered, from the owners of the bible, that they found the bible in the attic 7 years before and 2 years after they moved into the house. I have tried to find out how the bibl...

Rugman's Row | Rugman | One Name Study
http://www.rugman.org.uk/rugmans-row
Rugman One Name Study. Family History of the Rugman Name. I stumbled upon Rugman’s Row when searching the catalogue on the PRO website. In 2000. Among the seven results returned was a lease in Rugman’s Row, St. Bartholomew’s the Great, London in 1645. Living in Cheshire, which in UK terms is a long way from Kew, I ordered a very expensive scanned copy of the lease. While waiting for the copy my curiosity got the better of me and I made the trek down to Kew, London. Guild of One-Name Studies.

DNA Surname Project | Rugman | One Name Study
http://www.rugman.org.uk/dna-surname-project
Rugman One Name Study. Family History of the Rugman Name. My aim is to find if there is only one or possibly two sources for the Rugman name. If all the DNA signatures match on the various Rugman trees, there is only one source and I will search for the documented evidence. As the number of Rugmans is relatively low and all come from the south of England, this is the most likely outcome. And then contact me by email below. Guild of One-Name Studies.
