Last week the Regional District invited elected officials on a tour of regional parks - including some that they hope to add to the inventory! This was a very informative tour and I feel like I have a much better grasp of the "big picture" with our regional parks system. There are a number of real solutions to panhandling, and while bylaws give authority to remove aggressive panhandlers, what is also needed is an education program for tourists and residents about panhandling, and an alternative for those who want to help.
