Tuesday, July 20, 2010. One reason older people are less respected today. In many societies, the elderly are revered for their wisdom. This is much less prevalent in the modern world, especially in developed nations. One obvious reason is that developed countries are changing rapidly, especially in comparison to historical times. The elderly and even the middle aged often are not as comfortable or effective in the present as the younger generations. One fact missing from the Current Economic Debates.
