The running adventures of a small town New York Yankee living in Stutensee, Germany. Saturday, July 30, 2005. A Very Satisfying Long Run! I’m really not big on birthdays, I do appreciate it when someone says happy birthday to me (thanks guys! Some families have big parties, fork out lots of money, make a big to do. My birthday started out by getting up at 5:45 am, having a small breakfast, suiting up and hitting the trail for my long run at 6:15. A 1K run through town. A right turn;. Another right turn;.

Running with Jack: October 2005
http://runningwithjack.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_runningwithjack_archive.html
The running adventures of a small town New York Yankee living in Stutensee, Germany. Saturday, October 29, 2005. Swim Class #5 and a Long Run. My task was to work on my kick. I figured out right away that the way she teaches the kick and the way my wife does it are about two universes away from each other. As soon as I tried Teacher’s method my entire kicking form went to crap. It took the rest of the 45 minute class to even come close to the this form. Blah! Anyway I finished the run in 2:31:27. As ...

Running with Jack: So Where Am I Running To?
http://runningwithjack.blogspot.com/2006/06/so-where-am-i-running-to.html
The running adventures of a small town New York Yankee living in Stutensee, Germany. Wednesday, June 28, 2006. So Where Am I Running To? I’m enjoying my successes that I have had with my running the last couple years I’ve come a long ways! On the other side my marathon DNF in March is a constant reminder that I am only human, that I need to keep a cool head and train smart, and not rush. Since my marathon disaster I have slowed down my race tempo a little and seemed to have found my groove. You keep a re...

Running with Jack: April 2005
http://runningwithjack.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_runningwithjack_archive.html
The running adventures of a small town New York Yankee living in Stutensee, Germany. Saturday, April 30, 2005. An Almost Perfect Long Run. I had a really great long run this morning! I followed my normal route for about 10K's then turned off and headed over to the next town's running club's trail. There were already a few walkers out doing their thing, this was kind of cool - it's nice seeing other people once in a while - especially when your're running for 3 1/2 hours! I wound around their 11K trail th...

Running with Jack: My 43K Training Marathon
http://runningwithjack.blogspot.com/2006/04/my-43k-training-marathon.html
The running adventures of a small town New York Yankee living in Stutensee, Germany. Sunday, April 30, 2006. My 43K Training Marathon. I didn’t taper for this race, my only pre-race preparation was to reduce my 20K run to 14K last Wednesday and my 14K run to 8K on Thursday (I actually ran it Friday). The last 4K, which were on the asphalt path, where pure hell my legs were hurting and on the asphalt they were being beat to a pulp! Have a great week! Posted by Jack : 6:38 PM. That's awesome Jack, a marath...

The running adventures of a small town New York Yankee living in Stutensee, Germany. Sunday, July 02, 2006. Recovery, How Boring, or the Graben 10K Race Report. Yesterday (Saturday) I spent some time in my woodworking shop working on a small cupboard that my wife can use a coffee machine and stuff at work nothing fancy, just painted plywood. It was already 26C/79F and humid the race was going to be a hot one! About 15 minutes before the race I jogged a few minutes to warm up, then took my place at the St...
