One Thing I Don’t Know. By amybird :) on November 5, 2012. This weekend I went on a long, blustery run through the orchards in Apple Country! I counted like thirty wooly caterpillars and thought a lot about chicken fajitas and made a mental note to stick a Chapstick in my sports bra the next time I run in full wind exposure. I wondered why I left the warm house and why I didn’t wear more clothes and hmm, I could cut off a few miles by taking this road instead…. 8220;You go, girl! I was never a big old gi...

Posts from the ‘Blood Pumpers! Blood Pumper of the Day! Today’s blood pumper of the day: CHIA SEEDS! So excited about CHIA SEEDS! That I’m literally pissing blood, congrats to me on my first running induced hematuria! I cried when I first looked in the toilet last night because I thought I was going to die for like five minutes. A Cipro prescription and the 64 oz of organic cranberry juice I forced overnight seem to have calmed everything down there for now though. So there’s that. Seriously though, I...

Island Trail Tales: Salty Air and Southern Winds. By amybird :) on May 29, 2014. I love nature. It’s beautiful and captivating. It’s probably why I love trail running so much. It’s expansive, it’s intricate; it’s detailed and diverse. I don’t often relax by sitting down with a drink or plopping into a chair. Other people might, and that’s great for them… we’re all different! Morning run up to Blind Pass on Sanibel! Nature literally sparkles down there! Navigating a run along the Great Calusa Blueway!

Surviving Decade 2: What I’ve Learned Through My Twenties. By amybird :) on November 23, 2013. I know, I know. Everyone who has barely made it out of their twenties has written a blog post about this. But you know what? I did learn some things in my twenties. Just like how I learned in my teens that retainers are really difficult to find in a restaurant dumpster, and that cargo pants and button-up shirts. Are NOT the look). Hopefully I’ll learn some things in my thirties, forties, and fifties, too! Becau...

My Boyfriend is a Rock Climber. By amybird :) on November 7, 2012. Climbing in Big Bear, CA. Running is fantastic, because it has nothing to do with my least favorite things: heights, drowning, and explosions. Then along comes my boyfriend, Evan. His favorite things are cliffs, rapids, and anything that combusts. And not running. All of his sports are things you can die doing. White water kayaking, mountain biking, rock and ice climbing, snowboarding. Me, on the other hand. Well, I ate severe shit in.

I’m a Distance Runner! By amybird :) on January 11, 2015. I love words. I delight in knowing my thoughts resonate with and inspire other people. Particularly with other runners :) I’m not someone is particularly accomplished in the running world. Geez, I just like to run! Over a picture of myself running in a torrential downpour, during my first ultra in 2007 :). Http:/ www.picturesinboxes.com/. Give up. I made it through that sucky time in my life and I’ve emerged to the other side. Surviving Decade 2: ...

http://heathermomphysiorunner.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Keeping everyone else happy as a mother/wife/physio whilst trying to keep my personal passion for running alive. Sunday, August 28, 2011. Burke Mountain Dennett Lake. I don't know any trails on Burke mtn. but my friend Marc does! So, he leads the adventure. Up the gravel road we go. up, up , up. Then we shoot off to check out some old Burke mtn cabins- many still inhabited. I can not believe people packed the wood and supplies this far up a mountain! Then the BUSHWACKING began! It got pretty boggy too.

HEATHERS RUNNING ADVENTURES: Staying Inspired
http://heathermomphysiorunner.blogspot.com/2013/04/staying-inspired.html
Keeping everyone else happy as a mother/wife/physio whilst trying to keep my personal passion for running alive. Friday, April 12, 2013. How to Stay Inspired. My first 'Burnout' . If I'm not aiming to 'place"? Get points, maybe even a $2 medal? If I'm not going to conquer new distance limits or get faster? This lack of direction in addition to a few nagging injuries resulted in a lack of motivation and/or what one would call 'Burnout'. Now, how did I wrap my head around things to get back into it? Can h...
