The Runcible Bin: A Handknit for Ft. Ross

http://runciblebin.blogspot.com/2013/10/a-handknit-for-ft-ross.html

Wednesday, October 30, 2013. A Handknit for Ft. Ross. My son asked me to knit this for his class overnight at Ft. Ross coming up next week. I started this at the beginning of the playoffs and here we are at the end of October getting ready to watch the Cardinals take on the Red Sox in Game 6 of the World Series. Oh this is not World Series knitting here! The pattern is Dr. G's Memory Vest. The wool is Quince Yarn's Lark in Gingerbread. Posted by Mrs. Lear. He is going to love it, beautiful vest.

The Runcible Bin: Flowers at Home

http://runciblebin.blogspot.com/2014/05/flowers-at-home.html

Wednesday, May 7, 2014. I've been mixing bits of the yard and pieces from florists lately. Visiting the homes on the Berkeley House Tour this weekend reminded me how lovely it is to have flowers in your home. I checked "Bringing Nature Home" out of the library again. Every page is such an inspiration. The cover photo shows the wallpaper in Erica Tanov's bedroom. I also checked out "Undecorate" which has lovely photos of her home. Posted by Mrs. Lear. The Runcible Bin: Boardwalk top in Habu silk

http://runciblebin.blogspot.com/2014/02/boardwalk-top-in-habu-silk.html

Monday, February 24, 2014. Boardwalk top in Habu silk. This is Heidi Kirrmaier's. Top from Brooklyn Tweed's Wool People vol. 3. I knit it with Habu's Tsumugi Silk held double. I began the neck shaping 1.5 inches lower for a deeper neckline. I think I will make another of these in wool, maybe one in linen too! Posted by Mrs. Lear. February 25, 2014 at 3:53 PM. The Runcible Bin: BT Men's Redford

http://runciblebin.blogspot.com/2014/03/bt-mens-redford.html

Thursday, March 27, 2014. I've been knitting away at Julie Hoover's. From the BT Men's collection. I tried on the sample at the trunk show Verb. I've been thinking about combining knitted pieces with cloth after seeing this Bonnie Cashin piece. Maybe silk or linen knitted sleeves and yoke and then add a linen front and back? my life in yarn: a sneak peek

http://katejacksonknits.blogspot.com/2011/06/sneak-peek.html

My life in yarn. Monday, June 6, 2011. I've been working on my first pattern booklet recently, to be released this Fall. We did a photoshoot last week, and I'm so excited that my pile of samples has turned into something I can share! It's a collection of women's Fall/Winter accessories, for a range of knitting skill levels. These are just a few of the shots from last week, but I think they'll give you a good feel for the book. Stay tuned for preorder information! June 13, 2011 at 5:46 AM. Knit 1, tape 2.

Knittin’ and such. May 28th, 2008. Whenever we go camping, i of course insist on wearing only flipflops. come nighttime, i realize that it’s far too cold, so i put on my giant fuzzy sleeping socks and cram my feet back into my flipflops. it’s not all that comfortable, so i came up with a solution. I’ve seen flipflop socks before, but i wanted some made with worsted-weight yarn so they’d be warmer and quicker to knit. these are knit on size 6 needles, and they’re super-quick! You’re a ninja. The Wendigo Knits: April 2013

http://wendigoknits.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Tuesday, April 23, 2013. We finally managed to get this little sweater in the mail. I finished the knitting weeks before my cousin's baby was born, but somehow we couldn't seem to get to an open post office. Baby Beatrix (I love that name) was born more than a month ago, but the sweater languished in the cabinet. Finally, today, my husband was making a special run to mail out some tax papers and the sweater was liberated. CO 70 sts. knit 8 rows. RS knit one row. 1st dec. row (K5, K2tog) to end of row.

The Wendigo Knits: Just a Little Bit Longer

http://wendigoknits.blogspot.com/2013/05/just-little-bit-longer.html

Saturday, May 11, 2013. Just a Little Bit Longer. Everything in our lives feels like it's on the verge of being finished. I'm in the last trimester of my pregnancy. Spring is fading into summer. The last coats of paint are drying on our new bedroom walls and our three year old is rapidly losing his baby face and baby ways. The yarn is heavenly. It's incredibly soft, but with a good firm twist. I don't get the impression that it will pill much. There's enough yarn left over for a hat, but I'm ...Mason Dix...

The Wendigo Knits: Babies etc.

http://wendigoknits.blogspot.com/2013/01/babies-etc.html

Tuesday, January 29, 2013. My only excuse for not blogging more in 2012 was that, after 2011's lainius festivus maximus, I was not in the mood to look at knitting or spinning or dyeing. All I wanted to do was garden and spend time with my family. 2012 was a perfectly lovely year, but it did not involve much fiber craft. Well, it's 2013 now and I'm ready to get back on the sheep. I'll start by tying up some loose ends. This lovely, but far too big, sweater is called " Levenwick. Speaking of buttons, these...

The Wendigo Knits: Waves

http://wendigoknits.blogspot.com/2012/08/waves.html

Wednesday, August 22, 2012. This week has been full. There have been five parties, minimal house keeping, out of town friends, tourists on the roads and lots of swimming lessons. We're in the middle of a searing heat wave. The pool is a shining rectangle of turquoise in a field of bone colored grass and curling leaves. Every evening we suit up and crunch across the wasteland towards our own personal oasis. I love the dog days of summer. Posted by Hannah Julienne. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Subsc...
