Literacy – RUN International

http://runintl.org/literacy

So that all can read and understand. Only 19.1% of Niger’s population are literate. We strive to make a holistic impact on communities so that the Gospel can take root and bring true transformation. While it is possible for people to understand and learn without literacy, in order to grow and mature in the Word of God more quickly – we work to provide literacy training so each individual has an opportunity to read and study for themselves. Literacy is taught in both the Hausa and Gourmantche languages.

2

Water Wells – RUN International

http://runintl.org/water-wells

Clean water is essential to health and wholeness. The need for physical aid and spiritual transformation in Niger, West Africa is huge. Today, that need is compounded by fear and hopelessness as this nation suffers the loss of so many from disease, malnutrition and poverty…. Only 46% have access to clean water. 1 out of 4 children dies before age 5. 85% of women cannot read or write because their day is spent securing water for their family. Drill it and the people will come!

3

Primary Schools – RUN International

http://runintl.org/primary-schools

Education opens the door of evangelism. On average the school life expectancy of a child is 5 years. This means that the booming population (50% of the nation’s population is under 15 years old) on average have a 5th grade education at best. While education is considered…. Important, opportunities for schooling are sparse. In a nation where only 1 in 3 children attend school, more schools are needed. We have seized this opportunity and have almost 500 students in our 2 primary schools.

Children’s Ministry – RUN International

http://runintl.org/childrens-ministry

The children are the seed of the nation. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost. Matthew 18:14. It is our responsibility as Christians to take the Gospel to the next generation. 50% of Niger’s population under the age of 15…. This command is even that much more urgent. The children are the seed of the nation and by reaching them, we’ve reached the nation. Here are some of the things we do to reach and disciple children.

About Us – RUN International

Learn more about the Childs family. Neal and Danette Childs have been serving in Niger Republic since 1998. Neal grew up as a missionary kid in Nigeria where he saw mass evangelism and mighty miracles on a regular basis. It was there, as a young boy, that his heart was stirred to go where the Gospel had not yet been preachedto Reach the Unreached. Danette was born and raised in Minnesota and the seed of missions was planted in her life as a child as well. After graduating in 1997, they were appointed as ...
