The warmer side of life: January 2007
http://unreached-india.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
The warmer side of life. Snapshots from my trips to the warmer parts of the earth. Sunday, January 28, 2007. Where the time stood still. This winter when I was in India, I paid a visit to my ancestral town. My grandpa took us to the neighborhood they used to live in. Most houses were locked. The owners have long left the charming little town to make it in a big city and have seldom looked back. I was stunned to see how beautifully and artistically the houses were made in those days.

This will include pictures from almost everything from Puerto Rico (in all seasons) to other colder places during summer. This comment has been removed by a blog administrator. The titles are very apt! Shiv: Thanks and welcome to my blog!

The cooler side of life: March 2006
http://me-and-my-trips.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
The cooler side of life. Moments from my journeys to the colder parts of this planet. Monday, March 27, 2006. Two weeks in Alaska. Alaska, a land like nowhere else. Everything is just.beautiful. A nature preserve that we, as human beings, are still to destroy. The Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights, is what Alaska is most famous for. We didn't expect to see much auroral activity this time around since 2006 is the year of solar minimum. Stay tuned for more. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Two weeks in Alaska.

The warmer side of life: If Ganesha could speak..
http://unreached-india.blogspot.com/2009/01/if-ganesha-could-speak.html
The warmer side of life. Snapshots from my trips to the warmer parts of the earth. Monday, January 05, 2009. If Ganesha could speak. He will perhaps tell the story of Umreth. In regions throughout India, it's considered auspicious to have a Ganesha at the entrance of your house. Here in Umreth, he is carved right on the door frame. These are some of the doors where I found very intricately carved Ganesha along with beautiful, perhaps Arabic inspired design. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The warmer side of life. Snapshots from my trips to the warmer parts of the earth. Sunday, January 04, 2009. Umreth is one of those places that has a rich cultural history. It used to be very famous for a particular type of wall paintings. By which I mean, paintings ON the outside walls. The subject of these paintings seems to be rooted in mythology or perhaps popular kings. Why were they painted? What is their significance? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The warmer side of life: June 2006
http://unreached-india.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
The warmer side of life. Snapshots from my trips to the warmer parts of the earth. Thursday, June 15, 2006. The Chilka lake merges with the Bay of Bengal at this location. It is amazing how the calm lake waters and the turbulent ocean waves merge so beautifully with each other. This is the shot of the boundary. You see less and less waves coming to the shore as you approach the boundary and at this point they annhilate themselves. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
