The Accidentally Running Mama. Flexibility is the Key. September 8, 2016. Yesterday I had an 8 mile run scheduled. Now normally when the kids are all dropped off at school, I like to start my run by 9:00. Yesterday though I figured that I would first take care of some Cub Scout stuff that needed to be done. I figured that I would be done by 11:00 at the latest. One thing leads to another and another. Before I know it, it is almost noon. Now I’m hungry. September 3, 2016. Filed under: marathon training.

The Accidentally Running Mama. Some Runs Are Just Not As Awesome as Others. August 16, 2015. Runner’s truth…. Not every run is fun. Not every run is like running through a meadow. Some runs just suck from the very beginning. Today was such a day. I was coming off the rails on this one. There are several reasons and sometimes that just the way it goes. Then around mile 3, my sunglasses literally broke. Yes, I knew they were on their way out but really. I got my run in! 9 miles in 1:45. October 17th, 2014.

The Accidentally Running Mama. My first big event of the year will be the New York City Half Marathon. I’m going to throw the gauntlet down and say that I would like to do this race as a sub 2:00 event. I don’t care if it is 1:59:59, I really want this. I hear amazing things about this course. I know NY crowds are awesome. So this is the place I want to do it at. Then lastly, I want to run the NYCM STRONG. I want to finish this race knowing that I gave it all I got and couldn’t do anymore. The Accidentally Running Mama. August 13, 2015. Who knew there were flat trails in Vermont! Not me, but now that I found it I can’t wait to run them again next year. I got in several runs including two eight mile runs one of them being my tempo run. I’m not sure if it was the cooler air, the scenery, or the flat trail but I not only kept my pace but actually ran a little faster even running mile 7 at 8:55. I think it was a fluke, but I’ll take it! Do you keep up your training on vacation? August 13, 2015.

The Accidentally Running Mama. August 18, 2015. The day after my epic coming of the rails run, I had a 14 miler to do. I planned this one a little better as I knew that the whole point of this run was to run on tired legs. My legs were tired. It was still hotter than Hell, but I was determined to make it a good run. 8221; Then under my breath said a few things I will not mention on my blog. This did get me thinking. What do people think the point of all m reflective gear is? So what do I wear…. Fill in y...

Running, marathons, fitness, healthy living, running bun, spinning, vegetarian, dogs, animals, NYC,. My favorite track workouts. After my first marathon. I continued to visit the track for speedwork (during training cycles and down time). Something about completing a kick ass 400 or 800 or 1200 or mile makes me feel so accomplished (and badass).
