It's freezing here. Not down to Eastern European standards but still enough to make you go Aaaaaaaaaaaggggggghhhhhhh! When you set foot out of doors. We've had a portable heater running in the front hall all day to try to keep it slightly warmer than the street outside. Gotta go - I have to do 10 - 11 in the bar.

We took a booking yesterday via our internet selling agents laterooms. The booking was for the 11th of March. The guests turned up this afternoon. Go figure (as my US friend Frankie would say). We opened the pub from 12 noon until 4pm today, then closed the door and went upstairs to have a thoroughly untraditional dinner. Olives, crisps, manzanilla. Rack of lamb(honour guard), sprouts, roast tatties, roast parsnips, very nice red wine (will check details if there's any left.). Xmas pud, brandy butter. And look at that heat haze.
