the “DOMS” of the heart – runningthings4u
http://runningthings4u.com/2015/07/22/the-doms-of-the-heart
Being the best all the way to the finish. July 22, 2015. The “DOMS” of the heart. Delayed onset muscle soreness. Also called muscle fever, is the pain and stiffness felt in muscles several hours to days after unaccustomed or strenuous exercise. The soreness is felt most strongly 24 to 72 hours after the exercise. I’ve been thinking about how our heart is a muscle and I think too, that when we push ourselves to grow emotionally or intellectually this same phenomenon can happen. 8221; Those pangs in your h...

Being the best all the way to the finish. July 8, 2015. Running analogies. They obviously are great parallels for the road of life. (Pun intended) There are entire rows of shelves in bookstores dedicated to advice for life via running. You’ve heard them I’m sure…”. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. 8221; and so on…. My personal favorite is “. Its all downhill from here. My life of late is feeling very much like an uphill climb. When running up a hill, I know exactly what I.

Running on!! – runningthings4u
http://runningthings4u.com/2015/07/02/running-on
Being the best all the way to the finish. July 2, 2015. I recently ditched a job that had been weighing me down for the past couple of years, took a part time fun job to keep (most of) the bills paid, and have begun devoting myself to an inner journey of discovery. What do I really want out of life? I run things. Companies, households, trails…. I’m a runner. I want to run. I have to run. My inner journey is going along well. I’m still looking for a job that will be the right fit. the next s...Address nev...
10k Pace – runningthings4u
http://runningthings4u.com/2015/08/07/10k-pace
Being the best all the way to the finish. August 7, 2015. I started running in 2011, but I fell off the wagon a few times. I fell of the wagon a lot. I sort of just held onto the wagon with one hand and let my rollerskates pull me along for a while there…unable to decide if I really wanted to take this ride.). This month marks my first solid year of running under my belt! I started thinking about this concept. I know this pace, I call it my ‘sweet spot.’. Could I be faster? Is a 10:30 mile respectable?

The Running Thimble
Sharing my quilting adventures. Finished Quilts 2013 and 2014. Sunday, 26 July 2015. Hot Christmas in July (a mixed quilting/refashioning post). Today was the July Sew-In of my Guild. I was only able to go for a couple hours so I needed a low-fuss project with not too many moving parts. The weather was on the cool side, so I though a little Christmas quilting would be appropriate. Remember this Christmas-sy top? Go see her blog even if you are only interested in quilting. it's worth it! This is so 2003.

Musings on running, coaching runners, etc. February 14, 2013. Someone did me the favor of forwarding the link for a Harlem Shake video yesterday. (Thanks a lot, btw., and in the spirit of paying it forward: http:/ m.youtube.com/watch? I had managed to avoid witnessing this viral craze until Wednesday afternoon, but watching a clip of a dance move that has been recycled, following its heyday in the 80’s, got me thinking about the evolving nature of the historical record. Running vs. training. In truth, th...

Race Calendar and Wish List. Monday, April 6, 2015. April has always been my biggest race month and this April was no different. Sadly, I will not be able to run the Buck's County Half this Sunday, or the St. Luke's Half at the end of the month. Dr. More was right today when he said there will be more races, however it's still so disappointing! I feel much more like myself this spring so I was really looking forward to this months races and outcomes. Posted by Jessica McNulty. Sunday, April 5, 2015.
