Running this Journey

Saturday, April 4, 2015. It has been a long time since I posted an update. So long, in fact, that my last post was The Amazing Grace 10k that I ran last year. (I just ran this year's 5k this morning! It's funny how time gets away from you, even with the best intentions! I had to post an update anyway because I hit a huge. I was so excited to post this, that I didn't get a new picture taken, but you get the gist. Back to that milestone. As of December, I had lost 92 lbs! I will tell you more about Advocar...

Running this Journey: You Can't Outrun a Bad Diet

http://www.runningthisjourney.blogspot.com/2014/03/you-cant-outrun-bad-diet.html

Wednesday, March 5, 2014. You Can't Outrun a Bad Diet. Obviously from the title of my blog, I have become very active over the past several months. I do some sort of purposeful activity, whether it be running, Zumba, weight lifting, or a standby work out dvd most days of the week. I will be the first to admit, though, that you can't outrun a bad diet. Today's post is about how I have gone from this:. 1 Stop drinking your calories. 2 Track what you put in your mouth. 3 Measure everything you eat. What is ...

Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Eight Mile Long Run. First off, welcome to all my new readers from Runs for Cookies. Don't you just LOVE Katie? This post is a little late coming! I was on Spring Break last week and really enjoyed the down time. Maybe a little too much! This weekend, I had a ton of things to do because I did almost nothing during the week. :). So, if you remember from my last post, ( here. I finished my eight mile run pretty strong. At 2 hours and 3 minutes, I was only a few minutes of the 1...

Running this Journey: Anyone Can Run...Even You

http://www.runningthisjourney.blogspot.com/2014/03/anyone-can-runeven-you.html

Friday, March 7, 2014. Anyone Can Run.Even You. Hear me out here. 90% of the people I talk to say they can't run. Remember I said you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to? Okay, so I started running at 270 pounds. 270. I didn't think I could run one minute without collapsing. Really. That first minute felt like forever. Running and weight loss go together so well because the more you run, the more you lose and the easier running becomes. What do you think? Do you want to give it a try? Are you a runner?

Sunday, April 6, 2014. Amazing gRace Race Report- My First 10K! Guess what I did yesterday? I ran my first 10K! It was all very exciting. I have been looking forward to it for a couple of months now. I thought that it would be a nice complement to my half training, and it turned out that it was a nice break from it, too! You see, last weekend, I ran my first double digit run (10 miles). This weekend, 6 miles felt like a welcome break. Not to mention the race atmosphere made it all the better. Major sense...

March 23, 2015. So after a period of being slightly missing in action I’m back. Since December I started exercising again…it was a slow start. I decided that I will only start writing updates if I can continue my exercise program. For abou t 4 months I battled with hectic pain in my feet – did go to doctor and was told might be one of my various meds so I just kept on exercising through the pain. Then it got so bad that I couldn’t finish a 5km power walk. I ended up at a. Fixed this problem with special.

I’m still here. April 24, 2014. So I haven’t left the country or the internet. I have been swamped at work and getting ready for my surgical procedure and then some leave. I will be out of action for 2 weeks after the procedure and I’m already missing my walks and gym visits. I’ve started planning on how I will restart my fitness program when I get the all clear from doctor. Update on my measurements at least that is looking a bit better #happydance. April 7, 2014. During the week before the race I went ...

Pancakes, cold weather and parking garages | myfuturepicture

https://myfuturepicture.wordpress.com/2014/06/10/pancakes-cold-weather-and-parking-garages

Pancakes, cold weather and parking garages. June 10, 2014. It has been freezing this side of the globe. Think snow on mountains cold. As we all know cold weather required comfort food. Comfort food requires planning to ensure that not all the good work off the last few months is wasted. This motivated me to search for good comfort food. I discovered this really awesome pancake/crumpet recipe that is gluten free. 2 table spoons of tapioca flour. 1 level teaspoon of Xanthum Gum. 1 teaspoon of vanilla.

And I’m back…. May 22, 2014. So to get the good news out of the way. I lost some cm’s despite being sick and on leave. I think the long walks contributed to this. More excitement. my bestie from primary school lives in a different province than me. We keep in contact via the wonders of technology. Imagine my surprise when I returned to work and see she started blogging about her weight loss journey. Huge thumbs up VVV . Motivated me to stick to my healthy eating! June 2, 2014. Being back at work has been chaotic. As to be expected. Nothing gets done when you on leave and then on returning to work all hell break loose. Last weekend I received my little gadget (Garmin Vivofit) and I’m really enjoying it. The syncing to my smartphone was easy peasy even for me. I will keep you posted as I ‘m trying the new gadget out. The reasons so far I really like the Vivofit is:. 1) I can adjust the wrist band since my hands swells at times very badly. https://myfuturepicture.wordpress.com/2014/06/20/in-need-of-more-hours-and-hands

In need of more hours and hands…. June 20, 2014. It is official. Winter has hit the southern hemisphere. This is the first winter in a long time that I’m continuing with exercise. I usually go into sloth mode. So I’m proud of myself. This is also the reason that I’ve been following the weather like a teenage girl follows Justin Bieber tweets. The weekend’s weather prediction is looking great. #happydance. I’m also searching everywhere for interesting healthier recipes (especially curry and soup recipes).

Race Calendar and Wish List. Monday, April 6, 2015. April has always been my biggest race month and this April was no different. Sadly, I will not be able to run the Buck's County Half this Sunday, or the St. Luke's Half at the end of the month. Dr. More was right today when he said there will be more races, however it's still so disappointing! I feel much more like myself this spring so I was really looking forward to this months races and outcomes. Posted by Jessica McNulty. Sunday, April 5, 2015.

Running This Thing Called Life

Wednesday, March 5, 2014. It's been one of those days. Where everything had to be done.like now. I have rushed kids to the rink, packed bags, counted tights and bought new makeup. I have signed them up for practice ice and looked over their events for the. Weekend a thousand times now. The first competition of the season and I have stomach full of butterflies. Then there is the new blog. And the E-book. And it feels like I gave birth to twins. I am a bit of a wreck over it all. I feel like a new mom.
