Fitness – Running w/o Scissors
http://runningwithoutscissors.com/category/fitness-2
One Month Fitness Challenge: Day One. To those of you who read my last blog post, this is the beginning of my one month challenge to ready myself for the OCR World Championships. My goals for this challenge are:. Run 75 miles in month of September. Do 30 burpees each day (or do 900 in month in case of missed day or two). Attend no less than 2 Crossfit classes each week (exception Ireland week). Lose 5-7 pounds (though, I’d be OK if I didn’t reach this goal until race day 10/15). Portion sizes at night.

I don’t hide the fact that I am a vegetarian. I don’t carry a “Meat is Murder” sign with me everywhere I go either, but that’s neither here nor there. But I do consider myself relatively informed on nutrition. Anyone who decides to adopt a specific diet. Understand what they need to do in order to lead a healthy life. Every so often, people want to discuss my being a vegetarian and comment on how they could. Do it because of X, Y and Z. 8220;I like meat too much.”. 8220;Does chicken count? June 11, 2015.

I’m Over the Facebook Food Hacks. Dear Facebook friends who share food hack videos,. I also want to say I like “hacks.” Lifehacks are like little eureka nuggets that, even if I never use or think about again, give me a little “how ’bout that” moment in the day and makes me appreciate people’s creativity. They all look the exact same and none of you actually make them. I feel like if you post one of those videos, you should be required to show proof that you ate that for dinner that night. Now you have a ...

Courtesy of http:/ www.golfchannel.com. There is a new show that debuted on the Golf Channel last night called Altered Course. It is equal parts fitness competition as it is golf competition, and it pits teams of two against each other in a race to finish extreme golf holes as fast as you can all while using the least amount of shots. For a co-ed competition and we’ll be the focal points on season two. LoveBirdies – that one’s not bad. I’ll keep working on it. Back to Altered Course…. Oh, and if you can ...

Creating a healthy balance one sip at a time. Trophy Hunting, and Why it is the Most Cowardly Thing Humans Do. July 29, 2015. Creating a healthy balance one sip at a time. Goals from the New Year Half Way Checkpoint. July 7, 2015. July 7, 2015. How is it July? I’m pretty sure we just celebrated New Year’s Eve, right? At the beginning of the year, like any other list maker, I made a list of things I wanted to accomplish this year. Not necessarily resolutions, but just goals and things that I wanted to cross off. Here is how my list started. Travel more. Go out of state at least 3 times. Do a DIY project for our new home. No chec...

Creating a healthy balance one sip at a time. The Effects of Being an (Anxious) Extrovert. May 18, 2015. May 18, 2015. But, in general, I’m not good at being alone. I remember when I was a kid, my parents would be out of town on a lot of weekends for work, and while some kids would love the chance to be alone and stay up all night, I would ask as many friends as I could to come stay the night. Tried meditation. This is really new to me. It all started with a yoga class. The instructor made us...Learn tha...

Creating a healthy balance one sip at a time. April 27, 2015. April 28, 2015. We all know that the majority of beauty/food/cleaning industries only care about the bottom line, not how they get there. Animals are tortured and put through tremendous pain to end up on our plates, but did you know that animals go through just as much pain for you to wash your face at night? Did you know that the European Union bans animal testing on beauty products? Why is the United States still allowing this to happen?

Wednesday, December 11, 2013. New Portfolio Piece for Lis: The First Night. I just completed this painting, likely my last one of 2013! I'd been working on it since May off and on in between illustration jobs. I'm pretty pleased with it as I tried to be more ambitious with size (12.5 x 17.5. big for me) and detail. The title is "The First Night" and it's from One Thousand and One Nights. The very beginning. as Scheherazade begins telling tales to the Sultan in order to keep her head! Friday, May 31, 2013.
