So Close (to halfway) and Yet So Far | Running With Perseverance

https://runningwithperseverance.wordpress.com/2013/08/04/so-close-to-halfway-and-yet-so-far

Running, humor and life. So Close (to halfway) and Yet So Far. As you might recall, I was traveling last week, both for work and for pleasure. I was nervous about eating right and keeping up with my training regimen while I was away. I’m pleased to say I did reasonably well on both fronts. Training was facilitated by the fact that I was only one mile from the Lakeshore Path along Lake Michiga. Training miles to date: 162. August 4, 2013. Enter your comment here. Beat the Bridge | Running With Perseverance

https://runningwithperseverance.wordpress.com/2013/06/16/beat-the-bridge

Running, humor and life. Got my first update email from the Marine Corps Marathon this week. Very exciting. I am really looking forward to participating in “The People’s Marathon.”. The good news is that I can reasonably expect to be well beyond the Bridge by the time allotted. Even in my first marathon, by the end of which I was “running” in the intellectual sense only, I well exceeded 14 min/mile. You better be damn sure I want a finisher medal. Training miles to date: 22. June 16, 2013. Laquo; June 9.

Running Makes Things Better | Running With Perseverance

https://runningwithperseverance.wordpress.com/2013/06/23/running-makes-things-better

Running, humor and life. Running Makes Things Better. This was a good week for me in regards to running. A good training run on Sunday, a vacation day on Monday allowed for a recovery run, Wednesday saw an after-work mid-week 4-miler and this morning another relatively long run. The consistency is starting to pay off and each time it gets a little easier. Training miles to date: 37. June 23, 2013. Laquo; Beat the Bridge. What to Think About ». Enter your comment here. Running, humor and life. And so it begins…. Last Thursday marked 150 days to the Marine Corps Marathon. This is our next big race and could very well be our second and last marathon. For the last six weeks, I’ve been involved in a big project that’s been taking up a lot of my time, so running had taken a back seat on the schedule. But seeing 150 days in print (thanks, Facebook! Made me realize it was time to get moving. If I’m still alive and walking, I’ll buy you a drink on October 28. June 3, 2013.

June 9 | Running With Perseverance

Running, humor and life. Since it’s after Memorial Day and schools are only days away from closing out another academic year, most people are in the mentality that it’s summer. The only problem is, it’s not. It’s still spring, people. Summer doesn’t get here until Friday June 21. Don’t rush my favorite time of year. Have a great one! Training miles to date: 12. June 9, 2013. Laquo; And so it begins…. Beat the Bridge ». Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:. You a...

Running with Penny

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose." - Dr. Suess. Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Now I realize that I have had a baby, I am older and my body needs a lot more rest, recovery and TLC. Hence the reason I really want to get into YOGA! I would be in the studio way more if the classes were offered early in the mornings. After the class my slight knee pain was gone, I felt 100% stretched out and I was a happy yogi wannabe! My body was rea...

Running with Perseverance | my journey with Team World Vision

My journey with Team World Vision. November 9, 2011. Persevere: to persist in anything undertaken; maintain a purpose in spite of difficulty, obstacles, or discouragement; continue steadfastly. You have the ability to touch the lives of many people. This set the stage for the day I was ready for this race that I was. To run. I boarded the ferry a little before 7:00 AM and, to my surprise, as I was walking onto the Ferry with people from every country imaginable surrounding me, the first tears of the ...

Running with Perseverance

A lifelong adventure of going far, wide, and deep with God. August 31, 2011. What would you do/be if you could do/be anything in the world? One of my answers is to be a rock star. No joke. Well. maybe not the star part but at least be a part of a band and write some cool songs, rock out on a stage with an electric or drums or piano, have a million people in the crowd sing along with you, you know. My only barriers are that:. I can't sing. all that well. This song is my favorite out of the bunch. This is ...

Running With Pics

I've entered a photo challenge. Yikes. Monday, August 1, 2011. I strung some chipboard letters on fishing line that was tied to two stakes. I stood up the stakes and made a shadow with my SHADOW:). Running Uphill

Saturday, August 22, 2009. It has been a while. The very brief story - the Graves is back which I'm not happy about. The good part is that I went to the specialist thinking he would recommend radioactive iodine which I had my mind set against. He was great - said nobody would make me do anything I don't want to. So I'm back on the medication and also back on a gluten free diet (I'm willing to do anything that might help). Posted by running uphill @ 6:45 AM. Saturday, June 13, 2009. G dropped J and I off ...
