Have the pain blocking implants been installed on all three of them? Yes, and the memory implants are configured to reset short term memory at sixty second intervals. And the truth is, without the subhumans our work would be nowhere near as advanced as it is. He felt a little better with this thought. The next few days would be spent going over the data and working with the chemists to identify areas where the drug could improve. He wouldn’t have to come into contact with the subhumans during thi...Durin...

Aidan Writes: : The Book Lover's Wife
http://blog.aidanfritz.com/2012/08/the-book-lovers-wife.html
Aidan Writes: . Friday, August 31, 2012. The Book Lover's Wife. Edward cringed at the squeak of the opening cellar door and the accompanying dry rasping scratches of his wife's footsteps. Her soulweight, for it could be nothing else since she weighed so little, made the wooden makeshift stairs creak. He set down his collector's edition of the Fellowship of the Ring and turned to catch her flouncing the last few steps toward him. Is my little dove hiding from me? She raised an eyebrow and lick...

Our head is spinning, we turn this way and that looking for a source of light, however small, but there is none. We have lost our sense of direction – which way is the door? Where did it go? Our outstretched arms beg to touch a wall on either side, but we must be in the centre of the corridor. We take a couple of careful steps to the left, but still nothing. One more, one more. Still nothing. Our panic rises. This entry was posted on Thursday, February 14th, 2013 at 7:36 PM and is filed under Fiction.

The sirens blared. Kimi panicked. Today of all days! The drive seemed endless. She was startled and nearly screamed when a feral jumped on her vehicle’s hood. It screeched at her with its red eyes open wide, the pupils shrunk so much they were barely visible. Oh, we’ve got a hungry one here. Relax, they’re safe. I’ve had word. They were too far to make it here before curfew. They took shelter with Garner’s crew. Of course, they’re stuck there till daylight so we’ll have to delay operations. It is with te...

Aidan Writes: : Assassin Franks
http://blog.aidanfritz.com/2012/07/assassin-franks.html
Aidan Writes: . Friday, July 13, 2012. I snapped my mustard arm into a sharp, two-fingered salute. The strictures of protocol better keep the emotion out of my eyes. Couldn't appear weak before Colonel Wiener. He spun on his heels to leave me pondering my death sentence. Blasted war. Stumbling forward, I saw myself reflected off the grill. The man with his implements of death had his back to me. Good thing. He'd never see it coming. I laid there. Played dead. Where did you find that? He'd see...

Cameron Writes: FantasyCon 2016 and Book Launches
http://cameronjohnston.blogspot.com/2016/10/fantasycon-2016-and-book-launches.html
Monday, 10 October 2016. FantasyCon 2016 and Book Launches. It’s been an eventful and exciting month for me on the writing front, a whirlwind of new experiences, nerve-wracking waits and last minute panics (more on this in the very next post). Of The Red Knight fame) talking about war logistics, scouting, water supplies, and why Sauron should have waged economic warfare on Gondor to bring it to ruin instead of going for ‘The Big Win’. Drat him for his closed-lip ways :p. The Vagrant by Peter Newman.

http://cafeshorts.co.uk/news/fullback-on-101-fiction
Flash fiction, short stories, poetry …. Fullback on 101 Fiction. I’m a little late pointing it out — especially as it was horror themed around Halloween — but I recently had a 101 word story over on John Xero’s 101 Fiction called ‘ Fullback. I started writing that story, deliberately aimed. Also check out John’s site: Xeroverse. For some mighty fine fiction, in a longer vein. There are no comments yet.
