Running, walking, jumping and bounding for charity in 2010 and beyond
Unfinished Business |
https://runsqueezyrun.wordpress.com/2010/03/27/unfinished-business
Running, walking, jumping and bounding for charity in 2010 and beyond. March 27, 2010. For your convenience, all this is condensed into an informative and ramble-free synopsis at the end. Way back in October, having decided that I was going to run in the London Marathon, I thought it might be sensible to start participating in a few races. A nice easy 10k to begin with, I thought, 10k 10k’s not far, is it? Conditions for my first 10k were not ideal, unfortunately, I'd forgotten to pack my sou'wester.

Running, walking, jumping and bounding for charity in 2010 and beyond. The story so far…. February 24, 2010. So, I’ve been saying to myself since last November, Must set up a blog, must set up a blog . Well, it’s only taken me four months to pull my finger out! Training started back in November after a horrendously unsuccessful 10k run for Cancer Research – I realised that I’d have a lot of work to do if I wanted to get myself Marathon fit by 25. So, what have you missed? Then there was the day I discove...

Autumn Challenge : Race Report | Running To 150
https://runningto150.wordpress.com/2011/11/13/autumn-challenge
Running To 150 or how I tried to avoid IT band issues. Autumn Challenge : Race Report. It has been a while since I’ve done any sort of race report, so here goes. The Autumn Challenge is a small race organised by my club Watford Joggers. Taking place Remembrance Sunday each year. The course takes in the wonderful Cassiobury Park. Overall it was a superb race, well marshalled, challenging course, and a nice low key vibe. The sandwiches and cakes afterwards at the clubhouse where a joy. Next post →.
Puppy power! | marathonmiss
https://marathonmiss.wordpress.com/2011/06/10/puppy-power
Running and writing about running. I don’t normally warm up – I just zoom out the door before I can change my mind. But today was different because Hettie the new puppy was refusing to go to sleep in her cage (a short-term measure until she learns that chewing furniture is not acceptable) which meant I couldn’t leave the house until she’d stopped yowling. The neighbours don’t like yowling. Took lots of calls about a factory fire. Also as today’s is the longest of Juneathon so far, and therefore a s...
Monday morning hurts | marathonmiss
https://marathonmiss.wordpress.com/2011/06/13/monday-morning-hurts
Running and writing about running. If you’ve ever put petrol in a diesel car you’ll know how my legs felt this morning. Egged on by twitter power from @alanjslater @Runningthetube @kaz wright I made an uncharacteristic morning gym visit. Hopping on the treadmill I was feeling pretty smug – look at me eating healthy breakfast and exercising BEFORE work. Only the exercising part didn’t go so well due to shin-splinty legs and a weird pain in my thighs. I think I know the answer…. Grumpy goes for a run.

Running, walking, jumping and bounding for charity in 2010 and beyond. May 15, 2010. Inspired by a comment left by the lovely Susan (@marshklein) on my last blog post. I thought a postscript of sorts might be appropriate. Yes, the story of my marathon journey was a pretty jolly one, tinged with a little sadness and a lot of responsibility; I’d already talked about my reasons for running. On the eve of the Marathon. Do they mean that Ben McBean. What about my friend Angie. Who ran for Barnardos, in memory...
