Life's a mother: June 2010
http://lifesamother.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Intermittent posts about my life and loves. Sunday, June 20, 2010. Oatmeal, gravy, evaporated milk,. Leftover burger or meat of that ilk,. Steamed green beans, seasoned with dill,. A mess of corn mush piled in a small hill. Nasty to look at, but a pleasure to eat,. The dog's breakfast is served. Bon appetit! Friday, June 11, 2010. This morning when I woke I walked into the workshop to see what had been created overnight. I found a jar on the workbench, covered in gray cement. Where was the grout? Actuall...

Favorable Forecast: Speech Contest
http://favorableforecast.blogspot.com/2012/11/speech-contest.html
What a wonderful day to be. Thursday, November 29, 2012. Last week grades 3 to 6 participated in an English speech contest. I was, of course, unaware of it until the day before I was meant to judge it, and so I was surprised at the amount of work the students had put into it! Had had time to prepare and so must have known about it much earlier. I thought this was crazy, but there were no breaks between speeches and it was soon clear that I would not have time to think about the points! Also, I was shocke...

What a wonderful day to be. Friday, June 1, 2012. Seoraksan or Get Off That Damn Computer and Go Outside! Traveling from Busan was about a 6 hour bus ride up the coast, so we did it overnight and arrived to Sokcho at 4 am. Then we waited around for an hour and a half, watching the sun come up over the ocean and waiting for the local buses to start running. We caught the first bus of the day out to the park, a 30 minute ride. There were lanterns up for Buddha's birthday. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Favorable Forecast: April 2011
http://favorableforecast.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
What a wonderful day to be. Thursday, April 28, 2011. Traditional Mid-Year Hospital Stay. So a lot's happened in the last month! Most notably, I was hospitalized for 12 days after I went in to see about this "cold that just wouldn't go away.". Turns out it was acute tonsillitis! Another little girl started visiting my room when she came to see her grandmother down the hall and we drew pictures and played cards. Even the 6am wake-up to take blood samples no longer phased me! I made my nurses a card when I...

http://favorableforecast.blogspot.com/2012/04/fresh-air-and-social-obligations.html
What a wonderful day to be. Thursday, April 26, 2012. Fresh Air and Social Obligations. In public school this year, I've noticed the staff organise a lot of events together. Last year, in the private school, I met my boss and coworkers for lunch only one time for my going away but now it seems like every other week there's some school dinner planned. T own hiking-specific attire and shorts would. The mountain was just a short ride away. They all wanted to know. Yes, yes, it. I said. But of course they.

Favorable Forecast: December 2012
http://favorableforecast.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
What a wonderful day to be. Thursday, December 20, 2012. A few weekends ago, I finally made it to the DMZ. For a tour. Sandra and I were up in Seoul for a big gay mixer event that she helped organize, and thought we'd take advantage of our time there to visit the border. We transferred there to a military bus, and the tour was taken over by military personnel, who checked our passports. We we saw a slideshow of the history of the DMZ, and a had a briefing by a fast talking, mumbling American soldier ...

What a wonderful day to be. Sunday, January 30, 2011. The entire city of Busan. Has been built up between and around little clusters of small mountains and I love that hiking is so available within the city itself. I haven't done any of the larger peaks, but I went for a walk yesterday up a small mountain behind my apartment building. This is the view of my neighborhood:. Wednesday, January 26, 2011.
