We really do run so we can drink. Hood to Coast 2012 – the one where I ran down the mountain. Ahh Hood to Coast. The relay race that so many people dream of doing. And my third year in a row doing it. I’m so lucky to live in the backyard of the largest running relay race in the world. Ready to take this bitch on! I had leg 1 this year. I was nervous about it for the last couple months. Where do I find 5.5 miles of downhill to train on? A run along the Portland waterfront at sunset? Tags: Hood to Coast.

http://trendsient.com/posts/vignette/a-trail-of-two-years
A Trail of Two Years. Today marks my almost-every-damn-day runiversary of two years. In that time I have lost weight, slimmed down, started looking significantly younger according to friends, and had to slowly replace most of my wardrobe. I went from an Extra Large to a Medium, a 38-waist to a 32. My body is still bulky and awkward, but it is dramatically less bulky and awkward. A summary of those years is included below:. For 2013, almost all of the 1175 miles were walked on a trail that starts near my ...

We really do run so we can drink. Ragnar NW Passage Recap: This is Fun, Right? Beer, Pizza and the biggest heaviest medal I’ve ever gotten. It’s amazing how different the term “FUN” can be for different people. If you asked me 10 years ago if I thought doing a running race with 11 other people over 200 miles without sleeping would be fun I would have been speechless. And here I am, the proud finisher of Ragnar Northwest Passage, my first of two 200-mile relays this year. Leg 22 was 4.8 miles with a s...

We really do run so we can drink. Closing in on the “Big Day”. No, it’s not my wedding day. That was 8 years and 5 days ago. [Happy Anniversary, Andrew! It’s MARATHON day… I’ll be running in about 14 hours… and I’ll hopefully be finished 19 hours from now. What I’m thinking right now…. They put your name on the bib so that people can yell at you when you run by. Tags: 26.2 miles. Hood to Coast 2012 – the one where I ran down the mountain. October 6, 2012 at 9:33 pm.
