Rurality

Monday, June 13, 2011. Why don't she write? I've meant several times to start up again - geez, it's been a year! But well. blogs (writing and reading) for me are huge time sucks. And Facebook is the huge time suck that I've been abusing most recently. Note to spammers: that does not mean that you can graffiti my blog with your crummy, spammy links. I still delete those. Anyway, I'm still alive, though parched with drought. Thinking about starting back up again, or at least posting every now and then.

Tuesday, June 08, 2010. I said that bugs are attracted to me because I'm so sweet. My husband had to point out that they're really more attracted to. other things. His favorite foods: Sap, rotting fruit, dung, carrion. I like that Butterflies and Moths of North America. Site and their detailed range maps. Wednesday, March 24, 2010. Some recent game cam photos:. A sleek bobcat (Lynx rufus). Murphy's law of game cameras:. You get mostly southern views of northbound animals. (Coyote, Canis latrans. Looks like she barely escaped that bicycle pump. (Virginia opossum, Didelphis virginiana. Finally, our first shot of a beaver in action. (Castor canadensis.). Thursday, May 13, 2010. Sometimes you're lucky, and they just come to you. (. Barking tree frog, Hyla. Shortly after whining about being sick yesterday, I chipped my front tooth while biting my fingernail. So, maybe I'm just frog-lucky. I was going to say, "Doesn't he have a pretty eye? But after staring at the close-up while doing the photo cropping, I'm finding it slightly creepy. A hypnotist's eye. Squinting and wide-open at the same time. For correcting my ID! Not all cats are grey: February 2006

http://writer-s-block.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html

Not all cats are grey. Contrary to what Robert Smith says, not all cats are grey. Mine definitely wasn't! He looked like a killer whale and had the size of one. He will never be forgotten. The new kids on the block are black as the night and tabby respectively. This blog contains my ramblings about them, running and life in general. I can't promise that any of it makes sense. Monday, February 27, 2006. Houston, I have a problem. Rund um das Bayerkreuz. I have registered and paid! Sunday, February 26, 2006.

Lynn Coulter: November 2010

http://lynncoulter.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 21, 2010. Socks on the floor are poetry. I love this quote from the Nov. 2010 issue of Country Living Magazine:. Clutter is the poetry of our homes. It is an intimate view that is not always perfect- a few dishes in the sink, books piled next to the bed. Everything in its place may give a certain satisfaction but a lived-in room exudes comfort and warmth." - Mary Randolph Carter, author of A Perfectly Kept House Is the Sign of A Misspent Life. Now, don't you like that? And you know what?

Lynn Coulter: February 2010

http://lynncoulter.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, February 21, 2010. A hint of spring. Still, I'm already hearing birdsong outdoors and seeing the green shoots of bulbs appearing around my yard. I also seem to have a bumper crop of wild onions in the lawn this year, sigh.I don't mind going natural in the landscape, but the onions grow really fast and make the grass look scraggly. Speaking of onions- this week I treated myself to a subscription to Organic Gardening magazine. Or you can start the seeds directly outdoors, sowing 1/2" deep in rows 1...

Jealous Much?: Some catching up to do: Opening Day At Knoebels

http://your-butt.blogspot.com/2008/05/some-catching-up-to-do-opening-day-at.html

We do dumb stuff so you don't have to! Tuesday, May 20, 2008. Some catching up to do: Opening Day At Knoebels. This year's opening day at Knoebels was so much fun. It was one of the better times we've had at the park. Speaking of the haunted house, there's a few new additions to it this year. Anna and I ended up going a couple of times in a row. She even persuaded Amy to go through but I don't know if Amy kept her eyes open or not. Knoebel's also has a mining museum because the land the park resides on w...

Rurality » Freeing farmer leadership and rural innovation

Putting the farmer at the heart of the society. Close to 2 billion people around the world live and work on small farms, often family-run. These farmers are not only the lifeblood of supply chains; they are innovators with the potential to profoundly and positively impact the human and natural ecosystems surrounding them. Rurality, an initiative of TFT, believes they are entrepreneurs who should be empowered to realise their visions. The farmer as a successful and prosperous entrepreneur.
