Rural Rocks Side Trail. Along with birds and animals, these beauties were sighted along the trail. Photography by Tom Ashman. In 2000 as part of our millennium project. we were adopted by the Bruce Trail. As one of the few "stand alone" loops in the trail system. In the Bruce Trail guide book our trail is called Rural Rocks side trail. It is a 4m loop that begins at the parking lot at the bottom of our hill. We were told that if you only had half a day to get a taste of the entire length.

Spirit Walk . . . A journey through the chakras. Chakra Painting by Dee Cherrie Ashman. Is a gentle walk around the outside perimeter of the Healing Gardens of Rural Rootz. It is a reflective walk that gently guides you on a journey through the woods and through the Chakras of the body. Along the length of this trail are seven stations each with a painting specially created to honour each of the seven Chakras. I created these paintings specifically for this woodland experience. Nothing New Under The Sun.

The Gardens of Rural Rootz are located in the geographic center of a 100 acre Nature Reserve at the base of the Bruce Peninsula, between Wiarton and Oliphant. They are built around a headland, or "outlier", of the Niagara Escarpment. This is the first property in Ontario to be protected by a perpetual Land Conservancy. Grandchildren may experience the thrill of this natural wonder.
