After a manic last week which included finishing up all my work at - Adventures in Vladimir. July 23rd, 2009. After a manic last week which included finishing up all my work at the AH and saying goodbye to all my Vladimir friends, I made my way to Moscow on Friday night and then to Krasnagorsk, where I am staying with the wonderful Ivanovs. He did a lot of operations to his face, didn't he? Still, it was comfortable and awfully convenient, being a stone's throw from the train station.

Life is good. - Adventures in Vladimir. July 9th, 2009. Today is again gray and rainy and blah, BUT:. There are kittens playing in the backyard;. My coworkers not only remembered my birthday but bought me a really pretty pair of earrings, which I am currently wearing;. I have already drunk champagne today and expect to drink more tonight; and. Longest Thursday ever. - Adventures in Vladimir. July 30th, 2009. Back in New York now at Chelsea’s apartment in Brooklyn. My flight took off at noon from Moscow, was in the air for ten hours, and landed at two pm in New York. Time travel! Tuesday, November 9, 2010. I just like saying "nanowrimo.". Here's what I don't like: realizing that every time I try to write any fiction it comes out seeming either half-assed or a lot like an autobiography. Why can't I just make stuff up without it sounding like crap, or worse, without it sounding forced. Just trying to stick to my purpose! I imagine my characters rolling their eyes. Monday, October 4, 2010. Well, that's the end of her. Gladys is dead, and the proceeds are benefitting NHPR (I think). With her leaky trunk, rusted spare, broken passenger-side window, wilted ceiling, dented side, seized calipers, and broken radio, you'd think I'd be doing leaps for joy! Well, you'd think right. But first I had a moment of silence in that old hunk of metal. I thanked her for not breaking down until I pulled into my driveway. I lovingly gave her a last, thorough vacuuming. My Life in Spain.
