Tuesday, May 4, 2010. Days 39 and 40.Palmyra, NY. This is the view that we woke up to on Saturday. I wish you could hear the water. So peaceful. We drove to Palmyra New York. This is the view from the Hill Cummorah. It was very steep. We walked up 2 sets of stairs and realized how much hill was left, so we went down, got in the car and drove up. We drove three and a half miles to the Smith farm. This is the log home where they first lived. The Cooper shop.the Smiths made barrels in addition to farming.

Friday, April 30, 2010. Days 37 and 38.Vermont and back to New York. We went to the birthplace of the Prophet Joseph Smith in Vermont. The drive was beautiful. We met Elder Peterson at the visitor's center and he showed us around. There was a collection of statues on display that depicted scenes from the scriptures. A life size set has been commissioned and will be set at Thanksgiving Point in Utah. I was really impressed at the emotion that was captured in the faces. The farms were all so picturesque.

Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Days 45 to 48. Friday May 7.day 45. We went to the Johnson Family farm today, about 30 miles from Kirtland. Joseph and Emma lived here with the Johnsons for about a year after leaving the Morley farm. The colors on the floor are the original colors.fancy. It was a large 150 acre farm. This is the barn, and a very scruffy looking Papa. This has become a familiar sight for us and usually means "home". We passed through this little town. Our Vegas/Utah Trip Part 1. We stayed in Vegas for a couple nights and spent time with the Miller family. We see them far less than we should. they graciously allowed us to stay with them and having 4 kids age 2 and under in the apartment was a fun experience! We had an amazing dinner at the M Buffet after a two hour wait. so worth it! The creme brulee was soooo good! It was Davids first time and he LOVED it. He even went down the hill completely by himself. In Utah we also got to spend time with Megan!

Zoe Isabella Johnson's blessing. Yesterday we had the opportunity to bless our baby girl at church. We had lots of friends and family come to watch, and even some surprise guests from Utah! Our sister-in-law Heather and the kiddos (Katie, Presley and Brooklyn) decided Thursday to drive down for the blessing. I had absolutely no clue until they walked into sacrament meeting! It was so wonderful to see them and get to spend time with them. One of these days we'll make it back up to Utah. Mom and Dad Sprague.

I have been so proud of Meghan lately, with her desire to learn and appreciate school. Since Christmas break we haven't had any instances of kicking and screaming, not wanting to go to school.
