Aka Redheaded Stepchild Blog. Lynn draws some really lovely pictures, I especially like the ones of her cats. Animals are really difficult to draw, mainly because they don't keep still! Art and photography by Helen. Friday, June 23, 2006. I haven't posted for a while as I've been busy learning to knit, and all my creative urges have gone into wool, stitches, decreases and increases instead of pen and paper. I have been doing some computer based art though which I thought I'd share. Penguins are fantastic birds, and really fun to draw. I'm thinking of doing a series of bird drawings in this style, I've already done some preliminary sketches for a puffin. Posted by Brightsider @ 9:20 am.

Art and photography by Helen. Saturday, March 18, 2006. Here's the last one for today! This is a walnut ring box made by woodworker Stephen Boone. Who is the son of one of my favourite online friends. Stephen and his wife Gwen are wonderful, and I highly recommend using Stephen for any custom woodworking projects. The box is just gorgeous, I absolutely adore it! Posted by Brightsider @ 11:18 pm. Pretty box, you depict it so skillfully. LOVELY BOX and LOVELY sketch! Art and photography by Helen. The reall...

Art and photography by Helen. Saturday, March 18, 2006. EDM #23 and Illustration Friday: Draw your foot. I always thought I had horrible feet, my toes are a bit strange. And this foreshortened view makes my heel look huge! Posted by Brightsider @ 11:17 pm. The toes I see illustrated look perfectly normal, really nice sketch. My moms toes are webbed. But luckily I found at home, that my brother and my father had it too - and my grandmother too! I was proud, that was hereditary! Art and photography by Helen.

Art and photography by Helen. Saturday, March 18, 2006. Phew, lots of stuff to go on today. Firstly, here's my EDM #58, draw a hat:. This is a sketch one of the fascinator hats that a friend of a frind made for me as payment for building a website. In real life it's a chocolate brown, and the feathers are on longer stalks- I seem to be having a bit of trouble composing things on my page (a very stange malaise for a graphic designer! So I had to squash them in a bit. Posted by Brightsider @ 10:33 pm.

Brightsider Art: May 2006
http://brightsiderart.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Art and photography by Helen. Tuesday, May 02, 2006. This is the view of Half Dome from Cook's Meadow, where we got married. Up until now I've been using soluble coloured pencils and then putting water over them, but I really think I need to learn more about colour and watercolours. I'd like to be able to represent texture through the colours, instead of just having one shade of green! Posted by Brightsider @ 4:28 pm. Art and photography by Helen. View my complete profile. Im back- and married!

Art and photography by Helen. Friday, March 10, 2006. Here's a butterfly I drew for an origami project, which is why it's triangular. It's a Monarch butterfly- you don't normally get them over here in the UK, but sometimes the jet stream pulls them across from America. That's an amazing journey for something so small and delicate. I drew the outlines in Illustrator and then added the colour in Photoshop. I really enjoyed drawing the "stained glass" effect wings. Posted by Brightsider @ 12:24 pm. Glad to ...
