Inspired by reports of police brutality at the 2009 G20 protests in London. Do you know your place, when we punch. You in the face? Do you feel scared, as we pound. You down in our riot gear? Do you think we've won? We're not serving you son! Can you imagine our look on the telly,. As we crunch you in the belly? Can you hear us marching down your street? Can you hear your shins crack under our. Are you ready for the misery? Cos you see, we're on a mission.,. Not for you son,.
Who said you could do that ?
http://russellweb.org.uk/WriteHanded/Documents/Poetry/whosaid.htm
Who said you could do that? Alone in this room,. And an electronic eye blinks imperceptibly. Current starts to flow,. And the tapes start to roll. Going outside I swipe my card,. And another one makes a note of me. Walking to my car silicon eyes energise,. As another facet of my life unfolds. On the way home more of them check me,. To ensure I'm not speeding,. But is that all? At last I'm home and alone,. They know who phones me,. And what I watch on TV. I can't see them,. But my sixth sense itches,.
Oh we do like to be beside the seaside.
http://russellweb.org.uk/WriteHanded/Documents/Poetry/ohwedo.htm
Oh we do like to be beside the seaside. Down on the front, at the end of the harbour's claws,. The old man sits and directs his beam. Across the broiling waters to the distant strains. Behind him, unseen hordes march down the. Military Road and head, eyes right! Gulls cry like the cheering of ghostly children. And down in the port the p.a. blares away,. Like some long-forgotten drill master. Down on the front, perusing the harbour's claws,. Boys play and girls sit, enchanting.
WACO
http://russellweb.org.uk/WriteHanded/Documents/Poetry/waco.htm
Thoughts arising from a BBC documentary). The Sun is shining high in the sky. And a skylark has just flown by. So close he nearly brushed me,. Buzzing busily, a flirty bee. And the town clock chimes one. But my daddy says No, they're wrong,. Trust your eyes,. It's High Noon son. In the heat, amongst the grass,. Just as the snake slithers past,. I see rows of ants about their work,. Soldier Ants and - oh, they sting me! And Dad says, yes, they bit you,. That's their way,. Quiet Just another warm Summer day.
Lament for a Young Man
http://russellweb.org.uk/WriteHanded/Documents/Poetry/lament.htm
Lament for a Young Man. Fists are out of Fashion; so I stuck him. Like a pig, in the woods, I stuck him. I don't know him,. But I hate him. He comes from another tribe,. So I hate him. He's all alone,. And I hate him. I've got this bayonet,. I've stuck him good. We know you did. We caught you,. With this bayonet under your crib. Yes Sir, you! You used this spike,. And without remorse, snuffed his life. I'm young. I've never been bad before,. I love my dog, I'm too young and pure. Repent that man's fate.

Jupiter: August 2013
http://jupitersf.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, 11 August 2013. Author Guest Blog - Neil Clift. I never looked at it that way when I was plowing my way through Asimov, until Philip K. Dick hit my radar in my late teens. Since then, numerous authors have helped to shape my style, such as Richard Morgan, and Iain M. Banks (R.I.P.). I've also branched out into horror and fantasy in recent years, as very often there's a crossover in these genres these days. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Wednesday, 5 December 2012. It's a very good one! Tom seemed to like all the stories, apart from "Dead Simon and his Secret Astronautics". I think that's fair enough, both Allen and I knew it was a bit of an odd one and probably not to all tastes. Http:/ www.sfrevu.com/php/Review-id.php? Links to this post.
