Previously known as Rustenburg Nature Reserve and located On the northern slopes and summit of the western Magaliesberg mountains behind Rustenburg's southern suburbs lies one of the most interesting reserves on the highveld. Entering the main gate you are led via a well maintained tar road to the visitors center, picnic spot and camping sites which lie in a valley between two mountain ridges littered with giant quartzite boulders.

Hiking Trails in Kgaswane Mountain Reserve. Kgaswane Mountain Reserve is well known for it's overnight hikes. These consist of the 19km baviaanskrans trail and 25km Summit route. Both hiking trails are equiped with overnight huts and can accommodate 12 hikers per trail. Kgaswane Mountain Reserve also has two day trails. A 5km interpretive trail and a 2km vleiramble which is populor with bird watchers.

Die Wochen zuvor hatten Philipp und ich uns noch mit dem gewaltigen Projekt des Aufräumens des Farbenkellers noch beliebter gemacht und mit einem Paukenschlag das Ende der Dienstzeit einläuten können.
