Gone Coastal: July 2006
http://gonecoastalbc.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 30, 2006. Here's a shot of Bedwell Harbour, between North and South Pender islands, taken on the way over. And the late evening sun over the Georgia Strait on the way home. Posted by Coastal at 11:58 AM. Friday, July 28, 2006. It may be a year before I have to get up in the morning and go to a day job. Now there's a whole new world of things to learn and do and watch in that year. I'll do my best to keep you all posted. Posted by Coastal at 5:56 PM. Monday, July 24, 2006. T - 2 months. And c...
Gone Coastal: September 2006
http://gonecoastalbc.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 29, 2006. I recently posted an updated perspective on a post I never found time to write back in June. I can't begin to count how many different posts I wish I could've made in the last three weeks. So much to share, and it all goes by so quickly. Why wasn't she hungry yet? And later, why won't she latch anymore? Often that initial reprieve, that which comes without reason, beyond understanding, is enough to let me check my perspective, and maybe hear that other small voice, offering en...
Gone Coastal: January 2007
http://gonecoastalbc.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 24, 2007. This is one of those posts that's been brewing for awhile, but now I find I'm not sure where to start. Understanding and growing in God's grace has been a theme for me lately. Consciously since around the holidays, but I think that's only when I started to recognize a work that's been in progress for awhile (how old am I now? Posted by Coastal at 10:55 PM. Tuesday, January 23, 2007. Notice: Bear on Duty. Posted by Coastal at 4:05 PM. I got my first taste of this before T arri...
Gone Coastal: August 2006
http://gonecoastalbc.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 27, 2006. The chapter I just finished in The Creative Calling. But when the book asked the obvious question, "When did you last go there? So while the Bear was diving, I did some breathing in. Through the lens, finding my way around the various features and options. Here are some of the results:. Geared up on the ledge. Below:. The Bear with his newly acquired dive buddies, ready to descend from the far side of the kelp. The layers of stone blocks that make up the breakwater. Laila - a col...
Gone Coastal: June 2006
http://gonecoastalbc.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 26, 2006. Well, long time no post. It's late on a Monday. well past my bedtime - especially these days, but it's still far too warm to get to sleep. I tried. Took a cool shower after work and propped some pillows up in the corner of bed so I could flop awhile without resorting to the inevitable side position. It worked for a little while, and I did doze in and out. Time to try for some sleep again - I find myself staring at the screen and blinking, like I'm expecting something to happen.
Gone Coastal: December 2006
http://gonecoastalbc.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 25, 2006. This classic wearable statement came under our tree courtesy of the Bear's brother and his wife. A bit hard to see in this pic, but worth the closer look. Too funny not to share, especially with all the geeks among my readers. Thanks J and M! Posted by Coastal at 7:38 PM. Saturday, December 23, 2006. About a year ago, we got a very special present Christmas Day. A little blue plus confirmed that a new life was on its way. Seing six double yolks out of six that same morning.
Gone Coastal: October 2006
http://gonecoastalbc.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 21, 2006. For anyone out there waiting with bated breath for the outcome, the big day came and went with not much more than a few weak attempts at suckling, so I've officially closed the breastfeeding chapter. I'm still pumping, but I've begun the process of weaning there, so soon enough we'll be down to exclusiv.ely formula. Posted by Coastal at 9:07 AM. Thursday, October 19, 2006. Faith like a mustard seed. To grow. And a suitable long-term forecast wouldn't hurt. Eventually I topped ...
Gone Coastal: November 2006
http://gonecoastalbc.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 29, 2006. Back to the drawing board. Way back in the summer I'd made a few posts about a book I was working through called The Creative Call. I'm eager to see what comes of it. Posted by Coastal at 5:03 PM. Monday, November 27, 2006. Green But we'll see. So, anyhow, to Dr. Green, I just want to say thanks. And, "Well done.". Posted by Coastal at 10:24 PM. For various reasons, it didn't work out for us to go forward with them. One young couple departed for Madagascar earlier this year,...
Gone Coastal: May 2006
http://gonecoastalbc.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 27, 2006. This is the post I'd expected to make last weekend, the one that'd been rolling around in my mind, gathering other thoughts up and tying them together into a coherent mass, ready to be drawn out and spun into a post. Well, I guess all I can say is, if any of you opt to come visit us here, consider yourselves warned. It's a mess. Posted by Coastal at 10:00 PM. The vet aspirated the lump, which basically means she took a sample from the middle with a needle. Two samples actually...

Sometimes It’s Just Not Worth Gnawing Through The Straps! Random scribblings from Cliff Pearson. ColdFusion Developer, Musician, Gadget fanatic and Geek! What Does Oracle Have In Store For MySQL? June 4th, 2009. As a database geek, I’ve been watching the Oracle/Sun deal with interest, as nothing concrete has been stated about MySQL’s future in this converged marketplace. As far as I can see, this doesn’t bode well for MySQL. I can see MySQL going one of three ways:. MySQL could share dBase’s fate a...
