The Saturday before, one of the gals in the NICU staff put together a fun easter egg hunt in the hospital lobby for Hyrum and Hannah. They had a blast! She told me that turning nine made her feel so much older than when she was just eight. ;o) She got a bunch of seashell / beach themed items for her half bathroom, plus a dollhouse kit for her birthday. She loved it. She got a couple birthday cards in the mail, too- she still LOVES mail! Thanks, Sis. McDonald and Gramma and Grandpa Earl!

We have more than one google account and when they changed their login format, we couldn't figure out how to get into this particular account. For a long time. We're just a bunch of Nutty Squirrels. Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Hannah wanted a tuna fish sandwich. I was feeding Naomi and couldn't open the can for her, but Hannah insisted that I let her try to use the can opener herself. It's a regular, old, hand cranked can opener, which requires a bigger hand and good grip strength. I agreed to let her TRY. But since this opener isn't designed to do that, it had cut off the lid with the entire rim, so the entire can was razor sharp on top! Dear Mom and Dad,. I know...

I'll feed her about 2/3 of her bottle, and she's tube-fed the rest. I asked about taking her home with the NG tube in place but this hospital doesn't allow that. We're just a bunch of Nutty Squirrels. Sunday, April 13, 2014. Hyrum had an English unit on idioms at school a while back. These lessons really are important for kids who struggle with understanding language that is not literal, so of course they worked doubly hard with Hyrum to help him understand what idioms are all about and how people use them- as well as the translation of common idioms. Hyrum's teachers did a fantastic job! Hyrum really grasped the concept! Then he applied it. Knows what it means?
