Joe Mayo's Blog: Walking by Faith
http://joemayosblog.blogspot.com/2015/04/walking-by-faith.html
Monday, April 20, 2015. Have you ever really thought about what it means to walk by faith? Do we really have faith? We have faith for some things, you know like, "I had faith in this chair I'm sitting in." I had faith that it would hold me up! Or, "I had faith the switch on the wall would turn on the light.". Everyday we do things and never once worry about will it happen like it is supposed to. Which word defines my life? I recently read Tommy Barnett's book, "There's a Miracle in Your House.". I read b...

Joe Mayo's Blog: September 2011
http://joemayosblog.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 23, 2011. Just wanted to take a minute and write about something I saw as I was reading my Bible today. From Eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done.". As I read this verse I stopped and just sat in awe. God is B-I-G, big! And powerful. Yet just as big and as powerful as He is, He is also personal and cares so deeply about us that He holds us in his hands. Check this next verse out. He loves us so much! You can’t exp...

Joe Mayo's Blog: April 2014
http://joemayosblog.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 28, 2014. Recently I shared the following west by Bishop Dale Bronner, "Most people fail, not because of lack of desire, but because of lack of commitment.". How many times do we fall short because we are not committed? As I reflected on Easter weekend and compared Easter weekend to this past. Weekend, I realized we had 90 less people in church this past weekend than we had on Easter Sunday. Why the big difference? I would say it is because of one word, "Commitment.". Recent statistics say ...

Monday, April 25, 2011. Quitting is more about WHO you are than WHERE you are. Saw this on Twitter today from John Maxwell and wanted to share it! Quitting is more about WHO you are than WHERE you are. By John C Maxwell. Unfortunately, in many ways starting is the easy part. Ralph Waldo Emerson observed, “The great majority of men are bundles of beginnings.”. Are you merely a starter? Which had a record-breaking run of 2,212 performances. Thomas Edison failed in his attempt to create a workable light...

Joe Mayo's Blog: On Target
http://joemayosblog.blogspot.com/2015/03/on-target.html
Friday, March 20, 2015. Every January people set goals to start the new year. Some want lose weight, some want to quit a habit, some want to become better in some area of their lives. By Valentine's Day, most people have abandoned their goals for the new year, falling back into old habits and old patterns. Honestly, I have yet to reach my goal of 36. I've made as many as 18-20. I don't get frustrated, I just keep reading. After all it's only a goal. 2015 Books I've Read This Year:. 7 The Grave Robber - M...

Monday, December 6, 2010. Just a thought or two. Just a thought or two. Mary was the instrument God used to fulfill His promise. Mary questioned the particulars, but she never questioned the promise. Mary accepted the honor and the reproach both as God's will for her life. God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. I'm glad God is a God who always keeps His promise! Saturday, January 7, 2012. Let me begin this Blog post with the entry in my "Jesus Calling" Devotional the other day. January 6 ( emphasis mine. The more extreme your circumstances, the more likely you are to see My Power and Glory at work in the situation. INstead of letting difficulties draw you into worrying, try to view them as setting the scene for My glorious intervention. Keep you eyes and your mind wide open to all that I am doing in your life. So next time you find yourself in a dark room reachi...

Monday, May 4, 2015. All About the Grace. Let's have a short talk about grace. Many people believe that when you live under grace, it is a license to do whatever you want to do. You know, like grace is a big cover-up. When we treat the Grace of God like a big cover-up, we cheapen His Grace! Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote in The Cost of Discipleship. Cheap grace is grace we bestow upon ourselves. the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance. Cheap grace is grace without discipleship. She will give...
