Tuesday, September 09, 2008. The journey to a new home. The wall for the island is built. This will allow us to run plumbing over for a second sink in the Island. A temporary structural support wall is built while joist in the ceiling are being removed, replaced and reinforced. All 50 year old insulation is rotting and is removed. The sliver stuff was put in more recently when the previous owners did an expansion. The drywall, ceiling and cabinets are removed. Posted by Ruth @ 7:25 PM.

Saturday, December 31, 2005. Posted by Ruth @ 2:53 AM. Friday, December 30, 2005. A stop by the grandparents homes. On the way to Alleppey we stopped in to visit both of Praveen’s Grandparents homes. Both his father’s parents are gone, but his sister now stays in the family home. It is a Nair tradition for the property to go to the oldest daughter. The Nair traditions are matrilineal so the woman is actually the most powerful member of the family. I suddenly felt accepted were prior I wasn’t so sure.

Thursday, October 09, 2008. On Wen. It takes 2 weeks minimum for them to fabricate. We are getting a product called Ceaserstone. Which is a quarts resin composite, it's comparable to granite. Have loved to have had actually but this was the best we could afford. Again, this process is paining me because of all the things that I put into my clients homes that i can't afford to put into my own home.i know cry me a river right! So tomorrow they start painting!
