Friday, 4 February 2011. Brief Senegal news and photos from week one. Just heard from Tim. The internet connection has gone down so news of the second week in Senegal may not be posted until Wednesday when Tim, John and Paul are back in the UK. There is one bit of news though, the team today found one of the 2007 Lake District birds at Djoudj with a white/black ring YU. So close to being one of our Rutland birds. Here are a great selection of photos from week one courtesy of Osprey volunteer Lorna Burger.

Chris Mills Photo: March 2011

http://chrismillsphoto.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Website now live - www.chrismillsphoto.com. Tuesday, 29 March 2011. Standard "Kingfisher on stick" shot. A couple of days off work; a rare luxury in the life of a mortgage slave. Tuesday sees me at a SWT-run Wildlife and Farming day. so I figured an extra-long weekend would give me a chance to pursue a bird I've never quite managed a decent image of - the Kingfisher. Posted by Chris Mills. Sunday, 20 March 2011. Has the seemingly never-ending building work at the house caused too much disturbance?

Website now live - www.chrismillsphoto.com. Tuesday, 17 May 2011. Originally uploaded by Christopher Mills. Stick with what you know. That's my motto for the moment - I've had so little success with Barn Owls recently that I've conceded defeat for now. I did spot one bird quartering a field near the A29 on Friday night, after an evening visit to Pulborough Brooks, which may be an indication of things to come. More on that later…. Website now live - www.chrismillsphoto.com. Monday, 19 December 2011. A week of nothings! Short-eared owl at Waltham Brooks, by Christopher Mills. Having secured some rather nice flight images of the Short-eared owls, I've moved on to pursuing more selective shots. The main problem is that the owls have been largely ignoring the perch! So that the owls are used to the noise. It's disappointing to come away with nothing on the memory card, but there's no point blowing it for the same kind of shot I al...

Website now live - www.chrismillsphoto.com. Wednesday, 21 March 2012. Weekend in the Highlands. Isplaying Capercaillie, originally uploaded by Christopher Mills. What a beautiful country Scotland is! He also acted as cameraman for what we hope will be a decent video insight into the trip. My tendency to talk rubbish may well have a say here, but I'm looking forward to seeing the results! Website now live - www.chrismillsphoto.com. Wednesday, 11 January 2012. Originally uploaded by Christopher Mills. Above is my favourite image of 2011. It's nothing to write home about technically or aesthetically, but it encapsulates the drama and unpredictably of our wild animals. Turning to the coming year - my immediate plans are to spend some more time with the Short eared owls, chasing that elusive "battle" shot. I came very close earlier this week, only to have a inconsiderately-sited bush spoi...
