The road was steep with lots of hairpin turns, and we were glad we were not pulling our 5th wheel. The two lane road is paved up to the top, and we did see some trailers being towed but they were small ones. The view is quite spectacular - we had a great view of the Sawatch Range. We were driving in BV last evening a little after 7 pm and saw these two bucks grazing in a yard. So I finally got my deer photo! This was just two blocks from downtown. We just pulled the truck over to the curb and I shot out the window. I couldn't believe my luck when one of them looked up. They sure didn't seem bothered by us. Posted by RVmom at 8:04 PM. My foot is much better - still in the ortho shoe but I am able to climb up and down steps without any help. That means I can get into the RV! I am using a cane; no more crutches. We will take the ramp for Leonard, our Rottweiler, in case he needs it. Right now he is still pretty good on stairs but he is 10 years old. As much as he weighs (100 lbs)there is no way we could carry him.

Random thoughts on living full time in an RV, and descriptions of places we go. Wednesday, July 16, 2008. We took a drive to see the historic city of Leadville, 35 miles north of Buena Vista. Leadville is very historic but not a pretty town in our opinion. Many of the old houses are still standing, some have been restored but most are still in need of repair. The Climax molybdenum mine is set to re-open in 2010, so the locals are looking forward to a boost in the economy. Posted by RVmom at 8:01 PM.

Saturday at Lone Star Corral we had a big day at the clubhouse. First there was a dulcimer concert, then a potato bake supper and finally a brown bag auction. As part of the July 4th holiday festivities, Buena Vista held a four-day quilt show at the community center. There were many beautiful quilts, made by local talented ladies. We were asked to take part in the voting for 'best quilt'. We enjoyed seeing the colorful quilts. I am putting quilting on my list of future possible activities. Posted by RVmom at 12:00 PM. Living Our Dream

Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Funny how time slips away! Last post was Aug of 2010.
