From Marfa we continued on to El Paso this morning. We are at the Fort Bliss campground just a few miles from downtown El Paso. From here we plan to head north to the White Sands area of New Mexico. Weather turned cool yesterday with high around 40 degrees. At one point the temperature was 38 and raining - could have been snowing! Had a nice quiet Christmas day followed by a good buffet at the local casino. Took the boat out the day after Christmas and managed to catch a few fish. Only one keeper (flounder) but had fun. Sylvia even went with me for a change. 12/11/08: Landed in Baton Rouge yesterday after four days in Lake Charles. Woke up to this today! Click for a larger view. 12/13/09: Caught three more reds today (23, 28 and 29) and had to add another photo:. 12/12/09: We left Hondo the day after Thanksgiving. Had a great Thanksgiving Day dinner at the park clubhouse. Several people volunteer to cook the meal and most everyone else volunteers to eat it! They charged three bucks a head for the meal and it would be hard to beat that. 3/18/14: From Brady we continued on to Lamesa, Texas for a one night stop at their city park. This is where we found our cats twelve years ago - don't think they have a clue this is where they came from! Lea Lake at Bottomless Lakes State Park. Pavilion at Lea Lake.
