Little Steps, Big Jumps

Little Steps, Big Jumps. Tuesday, 17 May 2011. Sunset shared with Dolphins. So we arrived at the regional Vientiane bus station excited about our next stop but not looking forward to the overnight bus ride (given our previous experiences in Laos we weren’t expecting much). But this time we were in for a surprise! The “King of Buses” (that’s what it said! Pulled into our bay. Now this might not sound like much but after some of the seriously crappy bus rides. To our chosen destination the island of Don Kh...

Little Steps, Big Jumps: Exploring Chang Mai

http://ryanandmirjam.blogspot.com/2011/05/exploring-chang-mai.html

Little Steps, Big Jumps. Wednesday, 4 May 2011. After an uneventful (and above all short! Flight we arrived in Chang Mai – the jewel in the north of Thailand's crown. Without any hassle whatsoever (in fact so far travelling in Thailand has been easy all the way – apart from someone rummaging in my bag in search of easy pickings – none of which were to be had! We found ourselves a reasonable guest house and set out into the city for some sight seeing and of course shopping in the night market. Shopping in...

Little Steps, Big Jumps: Similan Diving = Unbelievable

http://ryanandmirjam.blogspot.com/2011/05/similan-diving-unbelievable.html

Little Steps, Big Jumps. Wednesday, 4 May 2011. Similan Diving = Unbelievable. So After a fantastic couple of months touring around South America and a pleasant break back at home for a few days to recharge our batteries (thanks to Carlwin here for keeping an eye on the place) we climbed aboard another aeroplane (racking up those frequent flyers at the moment! Love the Clown fish - "dont leave the Coral Nemo! Which included a brilliant torch lit night dive and a wreck dive as well (popped my cherry on bo...

Little Steps, Big Jumps: South American endings

http://ryanandmirjam.blogspot.com/2011/05/south-american-endings.html

Little Steps, Big Jumps. Wednesday, 4 May 2011. Following our trek we spent a few more days in Cusco (discoving an awesome burger place called Bobs Rat! Anyway we arrived in Lima with heavy hearts - obviously this short stop marked the end of our stay in South America - and needless to say we weren't ecstatic about it (although we were both looking forward to the comforts of home for a few days). And that's that for now. I just like to say that South America (the little bits of it we saw) is a truly ...

Little Steps, Big Jumps: Trippy Tubing and Lazy Days

http://ryanandmirjam.blogspot.com/2011/05/trippy-tubing-and-lazy-days.html

Little Steps, Big Jumps. Friday, 13 May 2011. Trippy Tubing and Lazy Days. Vang Vien - renowned in this part of the world for being a party town! After another long van ride in which we became reacquainted with two Aussies and two Kiwis we had crossed the border into Laos with several days before, we arrived in Vang Vien and managed to find a lovely little guest house a bit away from town (which turned out to be a good thing! However aside from some free whisky shots on the door neither Mirjam nor I last...

Little Steps, Big Jumps: On the Inca Trail

http://ryanandmirjam.blogspot.com/2011/05/on-inca-trail.html

Little Steps, Big Jumps. Wednesday, 4 May 2011. On the Inca Trail. Early in the morning before the hike. After several days doing various exciting things in Cusco and enjoying the variety of food immensely we were roused bright and early (04h00 in the morning to be precise) to head out onto the Inca Trail with Llama Path Trekking (they deserve a mention as the trek was awesome and our guide Raul a truly brilliant guy). And wasn't really feasible for us. So out we set out on the trail which runs through v...

A year ago today. A year ago today I lost you. Though I had only known you for about a month I cherished you. I loved you with all that my heart knew how. I counted every day like it was a blessing because you were still alive inside of me. The day I lost you was the worst day of my life. And every day since then I've tried to move on. I've buried myself in life to avoid reality so I wouldn't have to think about you because thinking about you only makes it hurt more. You are my hope. And I never will.

Thursday, November 4, 2010. Our Happy Boy at the park enjoying the outside and smiling big for the camera. Garrett likes to eat anything.incuding leaves. Rylynn showing how big she is.I can't get over how big she looks here. Smiling pretty for the camera. Better Late than Never. We are thrilled to say he is playing patty cake, waving, walking behind a push toy, feeding himself with the few foods he is allowed to munch on, and just tonight started signing "eat.". We are just thrilled at his achievements.

Ryan and Missy Allen. Monday, August 29, 2011. Saturday, August 28, 2010. I am a firm believer in "what goes around comes around". I am also a firm believer in hard and honest work. Unfortunately there are people out there that believe quite the opposite. They believe they have to tear others down and cheat their way to the top. Now, I can't write my initial reactions to this email. To say the least, I was irate. How DARE someone attack my work like this. My wonderful husband, then goes to th...Well, tha...

Monday, January 10, 2011. Freezing cold and Snow! Our house is behind us. We've decided it is very cool to live right in front of the sledding hills. The kids had a great time using their new sled over Christmas break despite the zero degree temperatures. It has been so cold! Christmas at Grandma's house. Ally, Sadie, and Reagan's Christmas. Christmas wouldn't be the same without the cutest kids in the world to go with it. Christmas pictures of the kids. Sadie on her baptism day, December 4, 2010.
