Opinions, book reviews, music tips. Sunday, March 9, 2008. How to disable submit button parameter in Rails. Here's a quick tip for Rails I've just learned from. Railscast #37: Simple Search Form. When you submit a form in Rails, submit button parameter gets passed by default and it can be kinda annoying when you don't need it. For example by submitting this form:. Text field tag :search str. You get following parameters in URL:? Let's say we don't need the commit=Search. Parameter. Fortunately, it's.

lucastej's blog: The blog it is a-changin'
http://lucastej.blogspot.com/2010/11/blog-it-is-changin.html
Opinions, book reviews, music tips. Sunday, November 7, 2010. The blog it is a-changin'. I haven't written on this blog for a long time. Last post is more than a year old. But that's gonna change, I hope. Also, I'll stop writing game reviews. I'm not gonna stop writing about games in general though, at least not for a while. Recently I started thinking about game addiction and the overall vanity of excessive gaming in general - some essays on these topics are coming soon. View my complete profile.

Opinions, book reviews, music tips. Wednesday, November 17, 2010. On the Vanity of Video Game Trophies. Sony calls them trophies, Microsoft and Steam call them achievements. They are, quoting wikipedia, "meta-goals defined outside of a game's parameters". My experience with trophies. I knew next to nothing about video game trophies before I purchased Playstation 3 earlier this year. I liked them at first, they add something extra to the game. It feels as if you're being rewarded for playing the g...I usu...

Opinions, book reviews, music tips. Sunday, August 31, 2008. Game review: Sid Meier’s Colonization. I was never much into Sid Meier’s Civilization, which is considered the one of the best computer games ever. However, I really liked Colonization, the game created by Brian Reynolds and Sid Meyer in 1994, similar to Civilization in name and UI, but quite different in game mechanics. While waiting for its upcoming remake ( Civilization IV: Colonization. To be released this fall), I installed DOSBox. Microma...

Opinions, book reviews, music tips. Sunday, March 1, 2009. Game review - S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky. There aren't many new locations: Swamps, Red Forest, Limansk and Hospital (which is not really a location, but just a one long corridor). Old locations changed only a little, so overall there's not much of a new content. I didn't mind though, I was happy to play improved Stalker in new clothes. Then I arrived to Limansk and the game suddenly changed into Medal of Honor: Chernobyl. So there you have it....

This is just an announcement of my new (and first ever) plugin/gem! It's a humble little gem (of a gem) called update attribute. And here is its description:. THE FLOW MUST SPICE. Not only must the spice flow. but the flow must also spice! September 26, 2009. Viewing source for local gems in Windows. As a Rails programmer, every once and a while I want to look at the source files for Ruby gems installed on my system. The way I have done this in the past was to go to github. In my post about setting up your Rails server and console with Console2 in Windows. I also described how to set up a macros file which could be loaded in to the command prompt when Console2.
