Day 9 in Zambia. June 22, 2011, 10:35 pm. It’s given me a new appreciation for Burgess and all he faces daily. To consider how he has held on to the vision of God’s House over the past 7 years baffles me. Great things aren’t done by great people, just average people who have great perseverance. A least I’ve come to that conclusion on this trip. For all those who have or will contribute to the project here and are wondering if it’s worth the sacrifice I can say without hesitation, YES! Day 6 in Zambia. June 21, 2011, 4:24 am. We traveled to Livingstone today which allowed us to see much of the countryside of Zambia. Our plans are to see Victoria Falls and possibly take a safari as well. In between naps we saw small villages, towns, and slums scattered across what seemed like an eternity of land. We were able to drive through Burgess’ town where he was born and Patricia’s as well. How would I respond if my own brother or sister were living in these conditions? Leave a Comment so far.

Exhausted as we were it was a shot of energy to see Burgess and Patricia’s faces of joy after 3 years since I had been here. Sometimes it’s hard to do business in a country where you don’t know who to trust and who not to. Having met with our original steel company that had agreed to do the roof and side beams for $30,000 we were informed the price of steel had increased and the amount had magically grown to $35,000.
