Inspired, as I noted in the previous post, by Chocolate and Zuccini author Clotilde Desoulier, who made her list personal but also universally applicable. My coworker Michael has protested that it is "biased." This is true. It's my list. Best movie (drama): Once. Or is it a musical? Best television show (comedy):. Best television show (drama):. We tell ourselves stories in order to live. Sometimes we get paid for it; sometimes we don't. Sunday, January 21, 2007. Local companies boost math and science education. The BBJ has fortunately been committed to philanthropy and community involvement lately, and I have gotten to write these kinds of stories; in fact, my editor, Mark, has classified this kind of story a "Ryan Rose Weaver" story. Education? Check New ideas for teaching tomorrow's increasingly distracted and institutionalized youth? As a Vi...

We tell ourselves stories in order to live. Sometimes we get paid for it; sometimes we don't. Tuesday, December 29, 2009. I am thrilled to report that talented Boston designer Holly Gordon. Has recently designed my new business cards and, IMHO, did a bang-up job of it. Check it out -. Thanks, Holly. You are out-of-control amazing. Holly also did the design for the Second Glass Annual Wine Guide. Which I recently helped to edit (whoops, forgot to mention that! Was able to update his blog on this topic.

http://katbydesign.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, October 17, 2010. Happy Birthday to Me! Normally I don't make a big deal of my birthday. In fact, I prefer not to talk about it (especially when you turned 26, ugh). But this year (Sept. 27) I had an AWESOME birthday (thanks to the incredible Ben), so I have to brag about it. First, he surprised me by arranging for me to get off work early. I walked out to my car, to discover it had been decorated:. Finally (best surprise ever! We flew right at Sunset, so we got a GORGEOUS view! It was such a fun...

Renaissance Woman: June 2011

http://ginmiller.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Friday, June 03, 2011. For Desire - by Kim Addonizio. Give me the strongest cheese, the one that stinks best;. And I want the good wine, the swirl in crystal. Surrendering the bruised scent of blackberries,. Or cherries, the rich spurt in the back. Of the throat, the holding it there before swallowing. Give me the lover who yanks open the door. Of his house and presses me to the wall. In the dim hallway, and keeps met here until I'm drenched. And shaking, whose kisses arrive by the boatload. Subscribe to...

Tuesday, June 02, 2009. Altars in the World - Barbara Brown Taylor. We receive enlightenment only in promotion as we give ourselves more and more completely to God by humble submission and love. We do not first see, then act: we act, then see. And that is why the man who waits to see clearly, before he will believe, never starts on the journey." - Thomas Merton. The Leather District Gourmet. Dispatches on food and drink posted by a recovering attorney in an old leather manufacturing loft…usually late at night…near a snoring husband and two sleepy cats…. The Other Side, the Raw Food Trend, Fakin’ Bacon. Another meat-free S/O/L/E Food Tuesday. There’s a saying in Japanese:. The reverse side also has a reverse side. I thought of that, as I stepped through the smoking, drinking, inked-up kids outside the Other Side. What was I in for? Who knows what the logic is.
