Ryedale EG

Wednesday, 12 August 2015. Saturday, 18 July 2015. Christina and I had a wonderful weekend at Bishop Burton, doing lots of work and meeting up with friends from other Branches. We have all put on half a stone in weight with all the lovely food that was prepared for us. There were four tutors, Nicola Hulme, Chris Gray, Jenny Adin-Christie and Linda Miller. All the classes did lots of wonderful work and I have got some photographs below of what went on in our room. These next two are Chris's own books.

Ryedale EG: April 2015

http://ryedaleg.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, 2 April 2015. We had a lovely day today with a visit from the ladies of the Hull Branch of the Guild. The room was full and the chatter went on all day but we still managed to get a fair amount of work done. I even had to clear them out at the end of the day. The work being done at St. John's Church in East Ayton on the the alter frontal is well on its way now. Only a couple more sessions should see the embroidery finished. It has been quite difficult doing some of the stitching but...I recentl...

Ryedale EG: February 2015

http://ryedaleg.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 3 February 2015. I am still having problems with blogger, I cannot upload photographs, it keeps telling me that it has lost the connection to the server. If anyone out there has any idea how to remedy this I would be grateful for some advice. There were a few items on the finished display but I think most people have had some time out over the christmas holidays. Although it wasn't a very nice day, I think everyone was glad to get out and meet up with friends again. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Ryedale EG: October 2014

http://ryedaleg.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 28 October 2014. Today we presented our advent calendar, that we made for the Regional AGM challenge, to Cath Temple who will take it to the local Guides and Brownies to raffle for their own funds. We also made a decision on our new Rose Bowl Challenge for 2015 and it will be 'Winter'. You can do any technique or any item but it must have a winter theme. We have another 'Make and Take' session coming up next month and we are doing 'Christmassy Things' similar to the items in this photograph.

Ryedale EG: June 2014

http://ryedaleg.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, 29 June 2014. Although members are now starting to go on holiday etc. we still had a good attendance today. A few of the quilted cushions from the workshop two weeks ago were on show but not all of them are finished yet. Cath's is missing because she was sitting on it. The day was so popular that another is planned for November and we are hoping to make a christmas table runner. Everyone thanked Ann and Jackie for organising and running the days. Monday, 16 June 2014. Here are the finished pieces...

EG Yorkshire Branch @ Leeds: September 2012

http://embroiderersguildleeds.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

EG Yorkshire Branch @ Leeds. Sunday, 30 September 2012. Welcome back to the new term, and hope everyone had a happy holiday. During the summer Freda made progress with her daffodils and has branched into split stitch for the flower head. Jenny has also been working, on a pincushion to give to a friend. She used a synthetic ribbon for the flower head, rather than silk, so that the item can be washed. A new bag to carry samples to the Guild meeting. EG Yorkshire Branch @ Leeds. EG Yorkshire Branch @ Leeds. Sunday, 30 June 2013. Branch Meeting June 2013. Yesterday's morning session was how to make Dorset buttons. The three buttons above illustrate the speed with which one can be completed. A) by using the right thickness of thread. B) arriving for the start of the session! Hilary also demonstrated how to cover a button with weaving, hope people will try these at home and bring the results to the next meeting. We all really enjoyed Sarah's talk which was enhanced by the series of...
