RZ-A - DRL 10 Pavilion Competition Entry

DRL 10 Pavilion, London, UK, 2007 (Competition Entry, in collaboration with Rashiq M. A.). Bedford Square with its strategic position accommodates a constant flow of people. This means the site for the pavilion in one corner of this square is always potential for heavy pedestrian traffic from three different directions. For the design of DRL 10 Pavilion we decided to use this flow of people as our form generators.

Kahrizak Park’s Entrance, Tehran, Iran, 2004 (Project Architect) (Stage L Completion). Kahrizak Park is the main green space of the small city of Kahrizak, where there are valuable architectures of "brick" belonging to more than 500 years ago. This Entrance Space tried to respect to this history and the reaction of the residents of the city after construction proved the value of this courtesy.

Colour Coding Facades - 2008. Colour Coding is a MEL scripted tool, developed to assign component based patterns to any polygon model in Maya. Basics are simple: the tool reads the subdivision of the polygon model as the grid to apply the pattern and reads the colour of the poly as the parameter to control the pattern. The first important thing when working with 3D-grids is detaching the grid from the component. Separate development of the grid and the component[s] will allow you to focus on macro scale and micro scale of the system independently. The grid would take care of the overall arrangement, the relationships, the adjacencies, and the macro space, and the component would define the micro space. If so, the system will actually be of no success without the sub-grids.
