From LA to El Dorado. Monday, September 29, 2008. Elsewhere in the garden. Making a fine show is an aster, noted earlier this year for reappearing after being AWOL last year. This year I discover I have spider mites. Never a problem before. They hit all the roses except Mutabilis and nearly wiped out my new bedding. Or a zuchini from my raised bed. Only green beans. One of my favorite stories from childhood is "The Bluebird", I was fascinated that the children looked everywhere for the Bluebird of Happiness only to come home and find it in their own backyard;). Sunday, October 07, 2007. I was looking out the window this morning and saw this pretty rose, so I grabbed the camera and took a walk around the yard. I saw a lot of weeds and trees that don't belong, and here and there little flowers to make me smile:). Next year I must plant more Dahlias around the yard.
