The church named Mary Magdalene Equal of the Apostles because, in the Gospel of John, she is the first to proclaim Christ’s Resurrection. In this moving late-Byzantine-style icon, Jesus calls Mary by name, and she wracked with weeping only moments before now seeks to embrace her Lord. A sacred work of art, contact the artist Rebecca Ruppar. Each icon is a unique work of art and prayer. It is written on a birch wood panel which has been prepared with layers of gesso and linen.
