Speed cameras are a success…. June 8, 2013. Middot; 9 comments. So the RAC says that speed cameras are a success. I say not. The RAC are correct, but then they only look at figures from 1990. Onwards. This is around the year that cameras were introduced. They do not look at what was happening before that point in time. Speed cameras make hardly any difference to road accidents overall. Vodafone, one of the world's largest mobile phone groups, has revealed the existence of secret wires that allow government agencies to listen to all conversations on its networks, saying they are widely used in some of the 29 countries in which it operates in Europe and beyond. Private Eye reporting they'd not only dodged paying tax, but had just landed themselves with a tax-refund from HMRC.
