Sunday, September 18, 2011. My Wedding Dress Was Green.but the fit is Sweatshirt Comfy. I had the pleasure of going into downtown SLC this past week - something I should do more often, but don't take the time. I love downtown! It is a beautiful. Place, new buildings going up, huge flower gardens and people watching is so much fun. Uh huh.go with that. Many of you know I've been married three times, yes, that's right, THREE (3). My Wedding Dress Was White. My Wedding Dress Was Winter White. I've never bee...

Stringin' Along: Wherever there are birds....
http://stringinalong.blogspot.com/2015/04/wherever-there-are-birds.html
Thursday, April 9, 2015. Wherever there are birds. Last summer I decided to do something I’d never done before. I was going to become a bird nerd! The DWR offered an introductory course to the falcons in late May 2014. I attended just to see what it was about and it was there I met Bob Walters, the great falcon overseer! Really, he is! If there is a person anywhere in the state that gives everything he has to the care and keeping of an animal, THIS is the guy! During that 98% boredom stage I got to know ...

Stringin' Along: February 2012

Sunday, February 12, 2012. You gotta know the territory! A commentary on laptops and .45s. I think we hasten to judgement on a situation to which we have very little background knowledge. What do we know? We know that this young lady has a history of internet trouble with regard to what her parents allow. We know what she posted about her parents. We know Dad's feelings on the matter. We know what the outcome of her disobedience was. Here is my spin. Children are to be respectful of their elders. They re...

Stringin' Along: September 2012

Sunday, September 23, 2012. Damaged musician, Part deux. I couple of posts ago I wrote about how my chiropractor had found another damaged disc in my neck. I survived (and thoroughly enjoyed) the Vivaldi institute with minimal pain - yay drugs! After coming home from the institute I took the MRI film to a neurologist. I spent a week waiting for the phone call that would say "we cant find anything of significance, thank you and good luck.". Here is one picture of the changes I'm making. She has some damage.

Stringin' Along: November 2011
http://stringinalong.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 25, 2011. To all the guys I've loved before. I've been thinking about how fortunate I am to have some wonderful men in my life. There were my Grandpas, Asahel (the tall one) and Otto (the short German) who were an integral part of my life as I was growing up. They lived just around the corner from me and across the street from each other. I couldn't have been more spoiled if I'd asked to be! Then comes my husband. He is smart, happy, level headed and totally in love with me! I did a lot ...

Sunday, November 4, 2012. Get rid of music in schools.by all means! Some of the events of this week have me thinking.yes, let's get rid of music in school, what do we need it for anyway? Wouldn't it be great to do something for our farmers right here in America? Concert set up in 6 weeks. Hurricane Sandy - 2012. A hurried benefit with some of the top paid music artists in the country helping to raise money to help those hardest hit. Famine in Ethiopia stirs artists across the world into action. Let us no...

Stringin' Along: January 2012
http://stringinalong.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 21, 2012. Bit of a rant). Yesterday, Friday, was the end of the quarter and since I am one of those highly diligent teachers (hahaha) my grades were done on Thursday before I left the building - hence, I had the day to myself. I did a little ab workout, and some stretching, then I decided I needed to hit the mall and get a new pair of jeans. I wandered in toward the jeans, expecting to be greeted by a sales associate, but there was no greeting, I didn't see a soul. I began pawing my...

Stringin' Along: February 2013

Wednesday, February 6, 2013. I know I shouldn't be writing, I should be in class, but this morning was fun - we just played. There is something so satisfying about looking down at 35 high school students who are just making music for no particular reason, other than to just make music. We work so hard and focus so much, sometimes we need to "just play", and a lot of the time we forget about that. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). One Year Ago Today. May the road rise up to meet you [in Dublin].

Stringin' Along: April 2012

Sunday, April 29, 2012. Jealousy. The word looks funny, sadly, its definition and the things that come from it are far from funny. I know I'm going to hit a nerve or two with a few people (probably the ones I'm not. Talking about who may think. I'm referring to them), but so be it. With that being said - why are so many of us so obsessed with wanting what someone else has? Why would we want to be responsible and held accountable for someone else's stuff? Much of what I have heard the past few weeks is,.
