Helping People Help Horses. Saturday, March 24, 2012. Blossom came to us on 12/3/12 from the local sale barn. She was extremely emaciated, and had some obviously old injuries. She has continually gained weight as well as stolen our hearts! Note: Only a member of this blog may post a comment. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget.

South Alabama Equine Rescue & Rehabilitation: Celeste
http://saerrorg.blogspot.com/2012/03/celeste.html
Helping People Help Horses. Saturday, March 24, 2012. Celeste came to us from the local auction. She was obviously in foal, and managed to be injured while at the sale barn. (Another horse she was penned with ran her into the fencing causing her to peel back the skin on her face, exposing bone.) Once we got her home, we stitched up her face and let her settle in. Celeste is extremely timid but is willing to learn. Note: Only a member of this blog may post a comment. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Helping People Help Horses. Saturday, March 24, 2012. Rose is a 12yo, registered solid Appaloosa mare that we took out of an extreme herd neglect situation in Laurel, MS in Feb '11. She was extremely emaciated and heavily pregnant. In late March, she delivered a solid colt who was just as loving and adorable as can be. Unfortunately, we lost Hunter in June to an e-coli outbreak. Pics will be added soon). Note: Only a member of this blog may post a comment. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

South Alabama Equine Rescue & Rehabilitation: Wendy and BB
http://saerrorg.blogspot.com/2012/03/wendy-and-bb.html
Helping People Help Horses. Saturday, March 24, 2012. She had also lost weight. I immediately get a hand on her and start leading her out of the paddock. I told the adopter that she was going to the vet as well. We contact our vet and let him know that we are headed his way. He meets us at his house to perform after-hours reconstructive surgery on BB's face and clean Wendy up as best he could. We also gave BB some shots that were to help prevent any possible pregnancy.
