Dr Lilac's Travel Blog. So much to see.so much to do.so much to learn. Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand. It is very similar to Manila. Even the people can pass for Filipinos ;) Other similarities to Manila are the traffic, pollution and over-crowding. However, just like Filipinos, Thais are very hospitable, always helpful to tourists and very polite. Khao San Road is a strip in central Bangkok where locals and tourists alike love to congregate and be merry. The str...

Dr Lilac's Travel Blog. So much to see.so much to do.so much to learn. Friday, April 9, 2010. Everybody knows that London is the capital of England and the United Kingdom. I've always wanted to visit the city and see first-hand how it is to be British. We had that opportunity 2 years ago and our trip was as exciting as I expected it to be.well, minus the weather. 2 out of the 3 days we spent in London were rainy and chilly. But we still had a great time! The "Underground" (the subway). The Tower Bridge i...

Dr Lilac's Travel Blog. So much to see.so much to do.so much to learn. Thursday, February 11, 2010. We only spent a day in Macau but I felt it was enough to get a glimpse of the beautiful region. Coming from. Hong Kong we took an hour-ferry ride via Turbo Jet. It was a smooth ride but it can be chaotic at certain times since a lot of locals travel back and forth during the course of the day. Here comes our ferry. The wavy mosaic pavement. Ruins Of St. Paul's Cathedral. Statues in front of the cathedral.

A marble elephant stands guard at the entrance towards the immigration booths. It reminded me ...

Carinderia Buffet – Verabear
http://verabear.net/2011/04/carinderia-buffet
April 2, 2011. Carinderia Buffet boasts of a 99-peso Eat-all-you-can buffet of. Staples. A carinderia is a neighborhood/corner store or eatery that sells cooked meals at very low costs. People would eat at these places, or buy food to take home. Some people, mostly A/B crowds, try to stay away from eateries or carinderias though because these places are not subjected to government inspection for health/safety standards. The second thing that caught my attention was this sign:. Also no sharing of leftovers.
