Songs from the River: December 2013
http://songsfromtheriver.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Songs from the River. A blog of poetry and photography that explores the mysteries that nature reveals to us all. Saturday, December 28, 2013. I’m ready to float right out of this universe. Far more distant than this one. Yet closer than the breath of my lungs. I breathe the same air as the warlords, the bright ones. That spread love and peace and happiness and battle. The ones that make their swords all rattle. As they drop them to the ground to plant some life into it. Reddened by another’s blood.

Songs from the River: July 2014

Songs from the River. A blog of poetry and photography that explores the mysteries that nature reveals to us all. Saturday, July 12, 2014. Love is the greatest of delights,. The most unconscionable of pains. It rides mighty horses across the universe's plains. An all encompassing sea of stars and planets and space. Quarks and mesons and trace. Love is the reason why I breathe. The reason why I die. If love was not in the midst of my being,. Here In meaninglessness I would lie. K, Duane Carter 5/24/14.

Songs from the River. A blog of poetry and photography that explores the mysteries that nature reveals to us all. Sunday, January 4, 2015. Some Observations on Feeling Better. First is that I have made deliberate choices to avoid allowing garbage into my spirit. Yes, I know this one isn't very "medical" but it's very accurate. If there are things that make you feel "less than" then get rid of them. Those things do nothing but drain you, so give them the boot. Let it go. The boss being a jerk? So, there i...

Songs from the River. A blog of poetry and photography that explores the mysteries that nature reveals to us all. Friday, November 28, 2014. I'm glad to hear children playing outside. Their laughter permeating all walls and barriers. Breaking through the barricades. Tearing down the bleak tirades. Of shortening days and greater distances. Greater distances that must be spanned. With great tenacity, greater veracity. All contained within the sounds of children laughing. I place my head on pillows soft.

Songs from the River. A blog of poetry and photography that explores the mysteries that nature reveals to us all. Saturday, March 28, 2015. She's Stil In There. She’s Still In There. Can eternity be buried by the sands of time? Can the beauty ever, ever be removed from the rhyme? Can the birds ever be silent at the brightening sunrise? Can the soft eternal blue ever fade from your eyes? Never, for you are still in there. Can life’s winding path through mountains and stones,. K, Duane Carter 3/28/15.

Songs from the River. A blog of poetry and photography that explores the mysteries that nature reveals to us all. Sunday, February 9, 2014. Lord, call me, call me from this boat, “Come out! I hear his call, I hear his voice, his summon shout. I would rather die in this tumultuous sea. Than to live in the place that isn’t me. I stand and go to the edge, the step. Where everything is a heaving and shrieking storm. There He stands, out in the midst of it all. Every voice within me saying to stay in the norm.

Songs from the River: Stuck Indoors
http://songsfromtheriver.blogspot.com/2015/03/stuck-indoors.html
Songs from the River. A blog of poetry and photography that explores the mysteries that nature reveals to us all. Wednesday, March 18, 2015. I think I might just be a honey bee. Who has flown in through the open window, free. Now I find myself in an entirely different world. Flying and buzzing around, searching for something familiar, swirls. Searching for pollen, searching for water. But there is none of that here. Only expensive furniture and carpet and stone and slaughter. I cannot find the escape.
