Cactus Forest Drive Pictures. The entrance station at Saguaro National Park East is the start of the Cactus Forest Drive. You can see the over 8000 ft Rincon Mountains rising in the background. This view is to the Northeast. This is a fun road for touring on a motorcycle or a bicycle. Around mile 4 the road has climbed up the side of a small hill that give great views of the park. The Cactus Forest Drive is one way and immediately starts heading North toward the Santa Catalina Mountains.

They can grow to over 50 feet (15 meters) tall and some of them are over 100 years old. This cactus is a symbol of the American West. Besides saguaro I saw many other beautiful cacti and plants with thorns and flowers. It was really hot and sunny. In the west part of park on Signal Hill I saw rocks with petroglyphs.
